The cast for The CW’s Supernatural spinoff is beginning to take shape. Nathaniel Buzolic (The Vampire Diaries), Lucien Laviscount (Episodes) and Sean Faris (Pretty Little Liars, Reunion) will star in the back-door pilot Supernatural: Tribes.
The spinoff, set to air as “planted episode” (ala The Originals) on April 29, is described as a sweeping drama about the various mafia-esque monster families that unknowingly to humans “run” the underbelly of Chicago and who are being tracked by a newly minted hunter who’s trying to stop them and rid Chicago of anything or anyone supernatural.
Buzolic, known for his role as TVD’s ruthless “original” vampire Kol, will plays David Hayden, a legacy shape-shifter from one of Chicago’s governing supernatural families. David has been living as a human for years, turning his back on his monster ties and all associated with it.
Laviscount will play Ennis Roth, a police academy trainee whose fiancee is killed in the crossfire of the monster war. When he learns the truth about the things that go bump in the night and lurks in the shadows, he becomes a monster hunter.
Faris will play Julian Durant, the handsome werewolf son of a wealthy family of werewolves (lycans) who has no love for Haydens, a family of shape-shifters who rule the city.
Supernatural: Tribes comes from Supernatural writer Andrew Dabb, who will executive produce with Eric Kripke, Robert Singer, Jeremy Carver and McG (Nikita). Singer will direct the pilot.
