This week’s episode of Beacon Hill gave us the moment we’ve all been waiting for, Sara and Katherine finally came face to face. Sara is at the coffee shop reading the morning paper when Katherine enters. Katherine doesn’t see Sara and orders her usual as she eyes the freshly baked scones on the counter.
A reporter approaches Katherine regarding the rumor that she is being eyed as the Senator’s successor. Katherine carefully avoids answering the question. Sara, who had been ducking behind her newspaper, then approaches. She would like to hear Sara’s comments on those rumors herself.
Katherine says she has a meeting and quickly leaves. Sara follows her. Katherine is clearly shaken. “Is that all you have to say to me? I haven’t seen you in six years,” Sara asks her. “Oh no I have a lot to say to you Sara. I’m not going to do or say anything in front of an audience,” replies Katherine.
At the beginning of the series, I had assumed that Katherine had chosen career over love. That she had coldly left Sara to pursue political power. Now it seems that wasn’t the case. Katherine blasts Sara for attacking her in an article she had written. Katherine seems to think that Sara has a lot of nerve. “You gave up any claim to my friendship the night that you left.”
We now know Sara had walked out on Katherine because she took a job with Senator Preston’s campaign. Sara has a strained relationship with her grandfather but there has to be more to it that that. What is behind all the anger Sara has towards her family? What could possibly be that bad?
