Dr. Brock Holt’s hand is getting more difficult to control and Chanel #3 is motivated to determine what is really going on with Cassidy. Spoilers ahead in this week’s Scream Queens recap!

Scream Queens Recap – Episode 207 – The Hand
Air Date: November 29, 2016

Brock is extremely stressed, mainly because there are only two real doctors in this hospital and he is one of them. The problem with this is that the more stressed he gets, the more stressed his hand gets. As a result of overworking, Brock is also worn out which causes him to less control over his hand, which likes to keep him up at night. When Chanel comes over for an “elegant salty dinner and romantic bone sesh” and Brock has his hand duct taped to the side of his leg. His plan doesn’t quite work out, though, his hand manages to get free and pull a knife on Chanel. This obviously put a damper on their night, causing Chanel to leave saying that whatever they had was over.

Anna Plaisance is a new patient at the hospital who has an extra set of legs and arms from an underdeveloped parasitic twin. The surgery is possible but is extremely dangerous, so Brock is hesitant especially because of his hand situation. Munsch basically ignores all of this and has already contacted a medical journal about the surgery to gain more good press for the C.U.R.E. Institute. I guess it makes sense that you would want your hospital to be known more for the innovative procedures occurring there and not so much for a bunch of murders.

Next, we see Cassidy doing martial arts set to music for some reason. Chanel #3 comes to tell him that she has been working on finding a medical reason for why Cassidy believes he is dead. She thinks he has Cotard’s delusion which is a condition where people think they are dead or even that they don’t exist. This is a real thing. Anyways, Number Three wants to give Cassidy at psychological evaluation to test for the condition because she can’t see a future with a dead guy and they’re half-dead children. Cassidy says she’s being prejudice against dead people which she responds that everyone is, she’s just willing to admit it.

While there is no official test for Cotard’s, Number Three compiles her own test that is questionable, to say the least. But, it’s the hardest she’s ever worked in her life so I’ll give her that. The questions seem totally irrelevant until Cassidy is asked about how much he thinks about murder and killing people, responding with, “like 37 times a day.” Yeah, that’s too much dude. Number Three’s test also includes watching Cassidy give a urine sample and showing a slideshow of things that are dead and alive. The results are in and Cassidy’s spirit celebrity is Scarlett Johansson and he definitely has Cotard’s so he’s not really dead. After Cassidy leaves, Number Three reveals to Number Five that she left something out of the results – Cassidy is a psychopath with his most likely career being a serial killer. They both acknowledge he could be The Green Meanie but Chanel #3 is reluctant to turn him in.

Elsewhere, Brock is trying to get some much-needed sleep on an operating table when his hand forces him awake. He is totally over his hand causing all these problems (so I am, to be honest) and he tries to chop off it off. Being that his hand as a mind of its own, it is able to get away from every attempt Brock makes to get rid of it. The Green Meanie comes in behind him and Brock’s hand helps him fight off the killer with White Crane Kung Fu. Brock can’t believe that his hand actually saved his life and it responds that, “it’s you and me forever.” This is so weird, I can’t.

Next, there is another new patient at the C.U.R.E. Institute, Mr. Benderhall. He has skin growths all over his face and Number Three thinks it is just acne, like what Jessica Simpson had. Cassidy doesn’t think this could be acne and promises to find a cure for him. Easily the best part of this scene was, “My name is Dr. Number Three.” They really do believe that they’re doctors.

Chanel is talking to Number Three, Number Five, and Hester to get their opinion on Brock’s crazy hand. After their disastrous date, Brock told Chanel he is going to make it his top priority to not kill her. How romantic. While they all having differing opinions, Hester doesn’t think Brock is the Green Meanie-type. Hester also gives a huge hint about The Green Meanie to the others, asking Number Three to tell them who the killer is and how her love life has been. This was crazy obvious and I cannot believe no one else picked up on it.

Cassidy is in the locker room where he keeps his Green Meanie costume, seemingly preparing for another murder. That seems irresponsible, wouldn’t someone find that in there? Nurse Hoffel comes in and still planning to kill Chanel to avenge her sister’s death. Her plan is to annoy Brock to increase his stress level, even more, causing his hand to kill Chanel. After Chanel is out of the way, Hoffel wants Number Three to be killed. Cassidy refuses to kill her but Hoffel says she will turn him in if he doesn’t and watch him fry to death in the electric chair. I thought they were supposed to be on the same team.

Hoffel’s plan is in motion with Brock’s cable now only showing soccer 24/7 and his computer only good for pop-ups for male enhancements. Honestly, that would drive anyone crazy. At what couldn’t be a worse moment, the reporter from the medical journal shows up and Brock proceeds to slap him in the face. Munsch blames it on his hometown of Baltimore and slaps Brock, calling it “an old Baltimorean custom.” Once again, Brock tries to tell Munsch that the surgery can’t be done because Anna’s heart is failing. Munsch decides that they will find a new heart for her along with removing the parasitic twin.

Chanel #10, One of the extra Chanels who has Marfan syndrome, is talking with her mom on the phone when the Green Meanie comes up behind her and strangles her with her pearls. The killer checks her pulse before retreating. Turns out, Extra Chanel is brain dead, her heart wasn’t damaged in the attack, and she’s a perfect match for Anna. Definitely suspicious. Even the ink on her organ donor form is still smudging and it seems like Munsch may have been behind this attack.

Meanwhile, Cassidy believes that Mr. Benderhall has been poisoned by Russians with the chemical dioxin. After some research, they believe his girlfriend, Shelly, poisoned him. She works at a place called “Nice Guy Chemicals,” and could have easily got dioxin. Cassidy proposes that Munchausen syndrome by proxy. Shelly has been making her boyfriend sick so she can receive sympathy for taking care of him. Mr. Benderhall confesses that he’s been poisoning myself because she has been driving him insane. He bought some dioxin thinking if he got sick and ugly she would leave him, but it only made her be even more clingy. After breaking up with Shelly, he receives medication that will left draw the dioxin out of his system.

While working on this case, Cassidy and Number Three reveal that they love each other, but that won’t stop Cassidy from killing Chanel. Now knowing that he is The Green Meanie, Number Three decides to focus on distracting him every time he thinks about killing someone. After witnessing the shocking lengths that Mr. Benderhall went to get Shelly away from him, Number Three doesn’t believe in true love and thinks about turning Cassidy in, which he responds that he might kill her. Later, Cassidy apologizes for how they left things and he promises not to murder her or Chanel. He can’t tell Number Three who the other killer is but he’s not the only one. Before walking away, he promises that he will make sure everything will be okay in the end.

Talk about an emotional rollercoaster!

Brock tries again to get Munsch to cancel Anna’s surgery, but his appearance is distracting. His is covered in blood from a patient and thankfully not from a murder or anything along those lines. His hand is going crazy because he’s stressed, not sleeping, and performing the most complex procedure in the history of modern medicine. Yup, that makes sense. Munsch doesn’t give in so Brock decides he will do the surgery with his killer hand tied behind his back. Before leaving, Brock’s hand attempts to strangle Munsch.

While prepping for Anna’s surgery, Munsch and the reporter are closely watching Brock and Cassidy. Brock’s crazy hand gets belted behind his back and he really is doing a major surgery with only one hand. Wow okay. After all the extra limbs have been removed, Brock begins work on the patient’s heart for transplant. His hand is getting increasingly fidgety so Brock thinks he can’t do it anymore and wants Cassidy to finish. He’s still holding the donor heart in his hand and looks like he’s about to have a panic attack. Brock tells Chanel about a song his au pair would sing to him that would always calm him down – 99 Red Balloons. Number Five makes an important note that this song came out when he was 20 years-old and he still had an au pair putting him to bed. Yeah that’s weird, but this is quickly ignored and the Chanels start singing. Brock can get the donor heart in and successfully performs the transplant.

The reporter is walking around the basement on the phone saying that things at this hospital are weird and he might have stumbled upon a medical ethics scandal. He saw Hester from the Netflix documentary, everyone thinks they are a doctor without any credentials, he sees Denise in the cryo chamber, among others. It’s about time someone called them out for this. The Green Meanie comes up behind him and stabs him in the back, killing him. Is it important that both Green Meanie victims in the episode were talking on the phone? Probably not.

In the locker room, Cassidy brings an extra hand from Anna’s surgery to Brock and offers to swap out his hand as congratulations for a successful surgery. Cassidy claims to have been practicing and studying hand transplants and Brock agrees. Later, we see Chanel and Brock in bed and his newly bandaged hand moves and writes “Kill Chanel” on a nearby notepad.

Next week episode brings back Grace’s dad and I can only imagine what that will entail.
