‘Riverdale’ Spinoff ‘Katy Keene’ Casts Two Key Roles

The cast of The CW Network’s Katy Keene continues to grow. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Jonny Beauchamp and Julia Chan have joined the upcoming Riverdale spinoff in two key roles.

Beauchamp will portray Jorge/Ginger Lopez, an aspiring Broadway performer who spends his evenings performing as drag alter ego Ginger at the local club.

Chan will take on the role of Pepper Smith, described as a New York City “It Girl” who may be keeping secrets about her money — or lack thereof.

Beauchamp and Chan will star alongside Ashleigh Murray as her Riverdale character Josie McCoy trades small town life for The Big Apple.

Written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi, Katy Keene follows the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene and singer/songwriter Josie McCoy (Murray) — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City. The musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of four aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio.
