Who says you can’t come home again? Soap Opera Digest is exclusively reporting that Roswell, New Mexico star Nathan Dean Parsons will return to his former home at ABC’s General Hospital reprising the role of Ethan Lovett for an upcoming short story arc.

Parsons originated the role of conman Ethan Lovett in 2009. The actor quickly rose to popularity with his portrayal of the bad boy with a heart of gold. Ethan came to town seeking out Luke (Tony Geary) at the behest of Luke’s former flame Holly (Emma Samms). Viewers soon learned that Ethan was the product of an affair between Luke and Holly while they were married to Laura (Genie Francis) and Robert (Tristan Rogers). Parsons departed the soap in 2012, landing high profile roles in HBO’s True Blood and later The CW’s The Originals in 2014. In 2018, he landed the lead role in The CW supernatural series Roswell, New Mexico where he stars as Max Evans, a dedicated Roswell police officer and natural born leader who has carried the secret of his origins and powers, along with those of his crew.

The Emmy nominated actor has returned twice over the years, in 2013 for the series 50th anniversary celebration and in 2015 to usher out longtime star Tony Geary.

What is it that brings about Ethan’s return? With Holly believed to be dead, and Robert on the hunt for answers about the mysterious circumstances surrounding it, it makes sense for the superspy to cross paths with his former flame’s spawn.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
