Bravo’s Top Chef returns for an all new season March 3. The new season will take place in Houston, Texas. Padma Lakshmi returns as host along with fellow judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons. Companion web series Last Chance Kitchen will also return March 10 on Bravo’s website.
Disney+ has officially ordered an adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians based on the book series by Rick Riordan. The series follows 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.
ABC’s To Tell The Truth returns with new episodes beginning February 22. Cynthia Erivo, Gary Owen and Donald Faison will serve as celebrity panelists in the premiere episode hotels by Anthony Anderson.
HBO has renewed The Righteous Gemstones for a third season. The news comes just three episodes into its eight episode second season. The series follows members of a world famous televangelist family played by John Goodman, Danny McBride, Adam Devine and Edi Patterson.
Showtime has canceled American Rust after one season. The series starred Jeff Daniels and Maura Tierney. The series followed a police chief who becomes compromised when the son of the woman he loves is accused of murder. Complications continue to arise as the investigation proceeds.
Following William Petersen’s exit from revival series CSI: Vegas, Jorja Fox will also not be returning for the recently renewed second season. The actress said she didn’t want the characters to be separated again because of the strength of their love story.
Annaleigh Ashford has joined the cast of hulu’s upcoming limited series Immigrant. The eight episode Chippendales origin story series stars Kumail Nanjiani and Murray Bartlett.
Netflix’s upcoming new series Pieces of Her premieres March 4 and is based on Karin Slaughter’s novel. In a sleepy Georgia town a random act of violence sets off an unexpected chain of events for 30-year-old Andy Oliver and her mother Laura. Desperate for answers, Andy embarks on a dangerous journey across America, drawing her towards the dark, hidden heart of her family. The series stars Toni Collette, Bella Heathcote, Jessica Barden, Jacob Scipio, Joe Dempsie, Aaron Jeffery, Omari Hardwick, Gil Birmingham, David Wenham, Calum Worthy, Nicholas Burton, and Terry O’Quinn.
Bravo has fired Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jennie Nguyen over her anti-Black Lives Matter posts. The network also apologized for failing to act sooner when her posts came to light.
CBS and MTV will be airing two primetime specials to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Julianna Margulies will host with each special featuring interviews with Holocaust survivors and their families who share harrowing first-person accounts and spotlight the importance of keeping their stories alive. The Hate We Can’t Forget: A Holocaust Memorial Special will premiere on Smithsonian Channel January 26, then will air on MTV January 31. Undeniable: The Truth to Remember airs on CBS January 29.
NBC and FOX will both air The United States Football League’s inaugural game April 16. Live from Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama, the game pits the New Jersey Generals against the Birmingham Stallions. The new professional football league season will air on both networks with NBC Sports presenting 22 USFL games in 2022 on NBC (9), USA Network (9), and Peacock (4), and FOX Sports carrying 22 games split between FOX (14) and FS1 (8).
VH1’s Love & Hip Hop and Black Ink Crew are teaming up for a two part special event uniting cast members across both series as they explore their African ancestry. Cast members will come together with host Dometi Pongo in this thought-provoking special that will examine the harsh effects of slavery and challenging stereotypes about Black culture, while also celebrating Africa’s rich history, music, craftsmanship, style, dance and food. Love & Hip Hop: Lineage to Legacy airs February 7 and February 14.
HBO Max has set a new Looney Tunes special for Valentine’s day. Looney Tunes Cartoons Valentine’s Extwavaganza! premiering February 3, will see Porky’s sweet on Petunia, but Daffy is sweet on Porky’s sweets. IMDb TV’s true crime docuseries Bug Out premieres March 4. The series covers one of the most bizarre crimes in recent history: The theft of $50,000 worth of living bugs from the Philadelphia Insectarium. As detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department investigate, they find themselves entering an unknown and shadowy subculture. Discovering that the Insectarium may not be the wholesome family museum it appears to be, viewers will be taken into a criminal underworld like no other.
