The Girls on the Bus premieres on Max March 14. The series invites viewers to hit the campaign trail alongside four female journalists, each of them different in their reporting styles and personalities. The story centers on Sadie McCarthy, a journalist who romanticizes a bygone era of campaign reporting and scraps her whole life for a shot at covering a presidential candidate for a paper of record. Sadie joins the bus and eventually bonds with three female competitors, Grace, Lola, and Kimberlyn. Despite their differences, the women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town – the battle for the White House.
Fox has renewed comedy series Animal Control for a third season. The renewal comes ahead of its second season premiere March 6. The series follows a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not. Joel McHale stars as Frank, an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical and curmudgeonly. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals. Humans…not so much.
AMC has ordered a third installment in its horror anthology series The Terror titled The Terror: Devil in Silver. The new season tells the story of Pepper – a working class moving man, who through a combination of bad luck and a bad temper, finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital – an institution filled with the people society would rather forget. There, he must contend with patients who work against him, doctors who harbor grim secrets, and perhaps even the very Devil himself. As Pepper navigates a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, he finds that the only path to freedom is to face down the entity which thrives on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls – but doing so may prove that the worst demons of all live inside him.
Matthew Goode, Chloe Pirrie, Alexej Manvelov, Kelly Macdonald and Leah Byrne have been cast in Netflix’s upcoming new crime series Department Q. The series is based on the book by Jussi Adler-Olsen. The series revolves around Carl Morck, a former top-rated detective in Edinburgh assigned to a new cold case whilst wracked with guilt following an attack that left his partner paralyzed and another policeman dead.
Parish premieres March 31 on AMC and AMC+. Giancarlo Esposito stars as Gracian “Gray” Parish, a family man and proud owner of a luxury car service in New Orleans. After his son is violently murdered and his business collapses, an encounter with an old friend from his days as a wheelman resurfaces old habits, sending Gray on a high-stakes collision course with a violent criminal syndicate.
AMC announced fresh updates for its Anne Rice Immortal Universe. Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire returns for season two May 12 on AMC and AMC+. David Costabile will join as a guest star. Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches has begun production on its new season, set to premiere later this year. Alyssa Jirrels joins as a new series regular with Ted Levine as a recurring guest star and Thora Birch as a guest star. AMC is actively developing a potential third series in the franchise, based on the intriguing secret society, The Talamasca, featured in several of Rice’s iconic novels.
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will be rebranded as Hallmark Mystery on March 6. It will feature a fresh, new on-air look, while continuing to provide the captivating, cozy mysteries that audiences know and love. Hallmark Drama will also become Hallmark Family on February 28. The network spotlights timeless storytelling for the whole family centered around faith, love, and community.

Lifetime has ordered a new docuseries chronicling Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s life now as she embarks on the next chapter as a free woman. The untitled series picks up immediately from the days before her release from prison on December 28th of last year. As a victim of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, Gypsy was abused for years by her mother and has lived her entire life in one prison or another… until now. The series follows Gypsy as she experiences life as a free woman, including finally living with her husband Ryan Anderson for the first time.
Acorn TV has ordered a new detective series titled Ellis. The series will follow DCI Ellis, a tenacious cop who is parachuted into failing investigations. Each two-hour episode sees Ellis, accompanied by her right-hand man DS Harper, arrive at a different police station, where she will have to win over the local detectives and immerse herself in the cases she has come to solve. As a black female cop, Ellis is used to being dismissed and overlooked, but she is a first-class murder detective, with a determination for justice and a deep well of compassion for those who need it.
