The final six series regulars have been announced for Netflix’s Icebreaker. Joining the series are Gabriel Tierney, Auli’i Cravalho, Peter Berry, Chaneil Kular, Devin Craig, and Aidan Shaw. They join previously announced Daisy Jelley and Connor Simos. The series is based on the novel by Hannah Grace. She’s the transfer gunning for Olympic gold. He’s the campus star chasing the NHL. AMC and AMC+ have ordered comedy series Happy Jack. The half hour family comedy stars Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen as a father and son. The six episode first season will premiere in 2027. Charlie Sheen plays Jack, a bit of a lifelong ne’er-do-well. He’s got two great daughters (though his Dad, played by Martin Sheen, deserves more credit for how they turned out). Kate runs Jack’s company and keeps him on the rails while Sam is a wild child who is more like her Dad. When Sam comes home to introduce everyone to her new boyfriend, Jack’s shocked to learn Paul, a former investment banker turned van life guru, is the same age as he is. Shocked at first (hypocrisy be damned), Jack soon realizes he’s got a choice to make. Will he keep looking out for number one, or embrace this last chance to be a real part of his daughters’ lives?
Tom Hollander is joining the cast of satirical drama series The Audacity. Premiering on AMC and AMC+ in 2027, Hollander will portray “Big Tim,” the mythical Cupertino executive referenced throughout the first season.
HBO’s The Trial of Louise Woodward has added more cast. Joining the series is Hugh Laurie who will play Judge Zobel.
Filming has wrapped on MGM+’s Legacy of Spies. Paramount+ announced it has picked up U.S. for three new original series produced by A24. These series include the upcoming comedy, It Gets Worse, the coming-of-age drama, Major Players, and the TV adaption of the novel, The Ministry of Time.
Apple TV has renewed Careme for a second season. The French drama series based on the book by Ian Kelly follows the thrilling story of the world’s first celebrity chef, Antonin Carême, who rose from humble beginnings in Paris to the height of culinary stardom in Napoleon’s Europe. While he dreams only of becoming the most famous chef in the world, his talent and ambitions attract the attention of renowned and powerful politicians who use him as a spy for France. The next three hosts and musical guests of Saturday Night Live UK have been announced. Danny Dyer, James Norton and Cynthia Erivo to host the next three episodes, joined by musical guests Sasha Keable, The Streets and Blossoms. The series streams on Peacock in the US.
Miracles of the ER premieres November 12 on Netflix. The Pet Cemetery Murders: A Ghost Story premieres October 11 on HBO. What begins as an investigation into a 1985 murder turns into a haunting exploration of a community’s dark history of violence and bloodshed. Toxic: What Happened in the Haight House? premieres October 27 on ID. The powerful two-hour special hosted by Elizabeth Chambers examines the tragic 2023 Haight family annihilation in Enoch, Utah. The special explores how years of coercive control, emotional abuse, and escalating violence remained hidden behind the façade of a seemingly perfect family, revealing the warning signs of escalating danger that were overlooked by those in a position to respond to them, ultimately preceding the murders of Tausha Haight, her five children, and her mother.
