Vincent Irizarry Joins 'All My Children' Reboot; Prospect Park Names New 'OLTL' Executive Producer

0

More news is coming out as Prospect Park’s plans for the upcoming continuation of All My Children and One Life to Live begins to take shape. Vincent Irizarry (ex-David, AMC) & Lindsey Hartley (ex-Cara, AMC et al) have signed deals to join AMC; Prospect Park has announced its new executive producer for OLTL.

Yesterday Soap Opera Digest announced that Prospect Park has hired Jennifer Pepperman as executive producer of One Life to Live. Pepperman’s credits include award winning directing gigs at both One life to Live (Where she also was coordinating producer) and As the world turns.

SOD also reported that actress Lindsey Hartley has signed on to resume her role of Cara Castillo.

Meanwhile Actor Vincent Irrizary took to Facebook to announce he has also signed a deal with Prospect Park to bring the dastardly Doctor David Hayward, aka Cara’s love interest, to the series reboot early next year.

“Happy to share that I just signed on with Prospect Park for the “All My Children” reboot! Excited to bring dastardly Dr. David back to life, as he did for so many others, and to see my dear friends in Pine Valley once again. A great, big thank you to all the fans for your tenacity in keeping the hope alive. You’re awesome!!! Let’s all keep our fingers crossed together that it becomes a reality.”

Keep your eyes glued to TV Source as the on-going saga of Prospect Park continues to develop.

So what’s my take? I am VERY optimistic at this point that these shows will in fact make it to air. I just really am interested in finding out who will pen these series, as well as which of the remaining actors will sign on. With the news that Lindsey had to ‘re-sign’ to join the series I feel it is safe to say that the actors whom originally signed on to do AMC and OLTL last fall are no longer under contract, and thus they will have to be re-negotiated with, which is what I figured would happen. I do find it kind of interesting how One Life appears to be getting the ‘second thought’ this go around with all of the All My Children news breaking first whereas last go-around it felt very One Life heavy… That isn’t to say that both shows will not appear, or that AMC will air before OLTL, just that I am still cautious, until we see actual production footage / see the opening credits role I don’t know if I will actually believe that this is a reality, but at least everything is looking a lot more solid and realistic this go-around…right?
