No one makes an entrance like The Originals’ Elijah Mikaelson.

From the first moment that Elijah (Daniel Gillies) appeared on The Vampire Diaries, the character has made one dramatic entrance after another and we absolutely love him for it. Impeccably dressed in his dapper suits, Elijah commands attention. He might be well-mannered, but that doesn’t make him any less lethal.

As we continue excitedly waiting for the series premiere to air (which we watched and loved), we’ve been sharing our season one wish lists for some of the characters. But when it comes to Elijah, all we want is for him to continue to be awesome and be on our screens as much as possible.

So instead of a one sentence list, we’ve put together a collection of some of our favorite Elijah scenes, which all turned out to be his amazing entrances.

We decided the best place to start would be with our first introduction to Elijah. In 2×08 “Rose”, we knew very little about him except that he was dangerous and he was searching for the doppelganger. It was love at first sight (even if we don’t miss that hair).

Speaking of firsts, Elijah’s initial appearance in 4×20 “The Originals” served to remind everyone that he is a BAMF and we love it (and him).

Of course Sophie (Daniella Pineda) is hardly the first person Elijah has swooped in to rescue. There’s the time he rescued Elena (Nina Dobrev) in 2×10 “The Sacrifice” after one of her stupid plans failed.

Or the time he rescued Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in 2×14 “Crying Wolf” from some super-annoying werewolves that were trying to torture him into giving up the moonstone (so glad you’re dead, Jules).

Then, there’s our personal favorite Elena rescue in 3×14 “Dangerous Liaisons”, when Elijah stops Rebekah (Claire Holt) from taking revenge for that whole dagger in the back incident (okay, we’re on Rebekah’s side, but Elijah is hot in every protective mode).

Finally, there is nothing better than when Elijah appears unexpectedly in an episode when there were zero spoilers or hints ahead of time. For that, we present our favorite moment of 3×13 “Bringing Out the Dead”.

The Originals premieres Thursday, Oct. 3 at 9/8c and then moves to its regular night and time on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 8/7c on The CW.
