ABC & SOAPnet's Salute To Broadway Cares

ABC & SOAPnet’s Salute to Broadway Cares need you to donate in the name of your favorite couple!

ABC and SOAPnet’s Salute to Broadway Cares event is drawing closer and they need our help! This event, a favorite among ABC actors and fans, is looking to raise $50,000 this year in the fight against AIDS. Cameron Mathison (Ryan, All My Children) is set to host the event.  This year they decided to shake things up a bit and create some good natured competition amongst the fans.

So what are the fans fighting for? Well that would be the battle for ABC Power Couple supremacy. You fans have the opportunity to put your money where your mouth is when it comes to supporting your favorite couples. Pledging money towards your favorite couple will not only get you bragging rights, but raise enough and you could win some very nice prizes.

There are two ways that you can take part in the Salute to Broadway Cares. You can send a donation to Broadway Cares from now until February 27, 2009.  It is easy and tax deductible! The second way is to create a SOAP-A-THON fan page in support of one of the 24 power couples from All My Children, One Life to Live or General Hospital.  Sign up; personalize your page with banners or photos and your reasons for why you love your couple. After doing that, you’re able to send the page to everyone you know and ask them to donate. Once donations are made to your site, you will become eligible to win prizes that include signed photos, a shooting script and costume accessories. The fans that raise the most money they will be flown to New York City on a Continental Airlines jet for a two night stay in the city! You will be provided with hotel accommodations and 2 VIP passes to the event and the party immediately following the event. I hope you don’t have stage fright because you will also be making a special appearance on stage to receive an award as the top fundraiser!

As of December 30, 2008, fans have raised $14,020 in the names of their favorite couples.  There’s still plenty of time until February to give your donation. So where do some of your favorite couples rank? Team Robin Scorpio and Patrick Drake have brought in $3,015.00. Close behind them is Team Zach Slater and Kendall Hart with $2,850.00. Do they have what it takes to beat our number one couple? The fans of Aidan Devane and Greenlee Smythe have raised $4,525.00. Want your couple to win? Send in those donations!
