Outstanding Supporting Actor nominee Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B) said it felt great to be at the Daytime Emmys. “I didn’t think I’d be here, that’s for sure,” admitted the actor on the red carpet. “The supporting actor category is really a tough category because really, everybody is a supporting actor on a soap opera. It’s an ensemble cast and the pool of talent is so deep and wide – and I could make a sex joke but I’m not going to,” he said laughing.
Clifton initially had a different idea in mind for his Emmy reel, but he was encouraged to select the one he eventually submitted. “I wanted to choose another episode but everyone kept hammering me with this one reel and so eventually I succumbed to peer pressure and it worked out.” Indeed, it did as he walked away with gold that night again.
The actor teased fans about what’s coming up on the show, and it looks like Darin Brooks’ character will shake things up. “I can tell you that there is a new character coming on that is going to change a lot of stuff. I can’t say anything more than that, but I am really excited about this character and what they are going to have to do this summer.”
