General Hospital star and Outstanding Younger Actress nominee Kristen Alderson tells us she’s still adjusting to her new dark locks. “I don’t feel like myself sometimes,” said the actress of her drastic makeover from blonde to brunette. “It was scary to do, but it helped me get into character more.” Her character of course, is the newly created role of Lauren “Kiki” Jerome, the newest Quartermaine heir. “It feels like Kiki and when I put on her clothes, that are a little darker and edgier, I don’t feel like I am playing Starr or am myself at all.”

The actress had a vision in mind when she returned to General Hospital and taking on a new character for the first time. “I really wanted to be someone completely new, but also be a little like Starr. So that the things people liked about Starr are in Kiki – like that feisty spunky side of her. I missed being a bad girl and now my character is a little risqué and that took some getting used to because I never had to play that as Starr. [She] was a one man kind of girl but Kiki is playing the brothers.”
