ABC’s scandalous primetime soap Mistresses will return for a second season, the network confirmed today.
The Alyssa Milano-led series, which debuted in June, is based on the British series of the same name. The show follows a group of close friends and their many adventures of infidelity, betrayal and scandalous happenings.
Though the series wasn’t the rating smash ABC might have hoped, it brought it solid ratings for most of its run. Mistresses finished the season as the number two scripted drama in the key demo, behind CBS’ Under the Dome. Ratings for the series improved after ABC moved its timeslot an hour earlier so it wouldn’t complete with CBS’ ratings blockbuster.
Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan and Yunjin Kim also star.
Mistresses is expected to return for its sophomore season next summer.
Happy to report that #mistresses was picked up for a second season. Thank you for all the love and support. I appreciate you.
