Fan favorite Eileen Davidson is returning to NBC’s Days of our Lives! The announcement comes on the heels of an exciting two year pickup announced less than a week ago by NBC. The actress is slated to begin taping sometime in March and will begin airing this summer.

Over the past year, the character of Kristen DiMera has been the driving force behind some of the most engaging and provocative storylines leaving fans and critics alike wanting more and eager for the return of their favorite villainess.

Returning for a powerful story arc that’s bound to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, Co-Executive producer Greg Meng commented, “As an important member of the Days family it is exciting to have Eileen return. The writers have some great things cooking for Kristen and we can’t wait for the fans to see what this will mean for Salem. Must-watch TV at its best! Stay tuned!”

Eileen Davidson returned to Days of our Lives in 2012 after a 14 year absence. The actress surprised fans over the summer she announced she was leaving the show. At the time, Davidson made it clear that she wanted to spend time with her family, but would be interested in returning down the line. Yay for down the line being here!

  2. If they can have Eileen Davidson return every few months, I do not see why they can’t ask Alison Sweeney to consider popping in to Salem once or twice throughout the year to check on her family. They have had the character of Sami involved in just about every storyline going which is totally unnecessary. Just like Daniel being involved in every story. Relegate him to one story at a time and give other cast members airtime!

  3. I was sorry to see her go, she was fantastic in her last go-round, and now I’m excited to hear she’s back. Great news!

  4. Must have been a good deal as she didn’t have that long of a break. Seems like Alisons departure has Days doing some quick scrabbling. Mind you she is a BIG gap to try and fill. Who will be next?

  5. That is what Alison said herself. She would like to make guest appearances every now and again for special occasions. Of course killing her off or replacing her won’t allow that. Lets hope after all her years of faithfulness Alison gets her wish. As a Sami fan I’d much rather think of her happy and living life grandly somewhere else than dead etc.

  6. I Hope when Alison Sweeny leaves they don’t kill her character Sami of but just have her leave for some reason that way if she decides to come back every now and then she can. Just like Eileen Davidson character Kristen is important to the show so is Alison Sweeny’s character Sami, she could come back for weddings, anniversary’s, and any other special occasions.

  7. Between the Kassie DePaiva news and this, I have to say this makes me a very happy Days fan.
