‘Arrow’ Photo Preview: Hell Breaks Loose in Starling City

1

We’re still trying to recover from this week’s episode of Arrow. Our hearts broke once more as the city said goodbye to Moira and Thea decided it would be best for her to start over elsewhere. Oliver surprised his sister by giving her his blessing, but he neglected to mention that he’d been planning to turn himself over to Slade and end the war once and for all with his death.

But calmer heads prevailed, or more specifically, Digg, Felicity and Laurel teamed up to talk some sense into Oliver. Laurel told Oliver how she’d learned his secret and in addition to her emotional plea, she had another crucial piece of information for him: proof that Sebastian Blood was working with Slade and Moira had died so he could become mayor.

That spurred Oliver and Team Arrow back into action. Their plan was to bury Slade’s army in an explosion, but it didn’t exactly go off without a hitch. The episode ended with Digg facing off with Isabel in full Ravager gear and Oliver and Laurel buried in the rubble along with the soldiers. Where do our heroes go from here?

The CW has released the episode stills for the penultimate episode of season two, “Streets of Fire.” We’re not too surprised to see that Oliver and Laurel have made it out alive and Digg has found a way around Isabel – at least for the time being. But that’s not going to stop the army that is taking over the city, including the train station where Thea is trapped as she tries to get out of town. Even though he’s not pictured, we’re pretty confident her not-so-dead father Malcolm will be coming to her rescue.

But how will Team Arrow stop the army? And how will a call that Felicity receives from S.T.A.R. labs play into the war? We know that she receives game changing news, could it be the cure they’ve been waiting for and if it is, will they be able to use it before it’s too late?

Arrow airs Wednesday, May 7 at 8/7c on The CW.
