In the TV Source Podcast’s new Week in Soaps episode for April 22-26, 2019: The Far Right Story turns up a notch on Hollyoaks; Genoa City said goodbye to Neil Winters on The Young and the Restless; Family attempt to deprogram Kristina on General Hospital; Thomas’ attachment to Hope becomes creepy on The Bold and the Beautiful; Nicole returns on Days of Our Lives.
Taped: April 28, 2019
Producer: Ryan W. & Ashley D.
The Young and the Restless (01:35)
CBS’ The Young and the Restless paid tribute to the late Kristoff St. John when his character Neil Winters passes away and the town gathers to say their final goodbyes. Will this be a reset for the remaining members of the Winters family? We discuss what they got right and what they got wrong.
Hollyoaks (32:04)
Sienna and Laurie are both suspended as a sexual misconduct investigation continues. The extremist storyline ramps up as Shahid returns to the village and Ste joins in the violence. James sets up Donna Marie to free Romeo from prison! Also, Walter and Marnie might be a thing.
General Hospital (01:04:20)
The deprogramming of Kristina scenes were very poignant and powerful. Oscar’s impending death is finally offering context to characters other than Josslyn. GH doesn’t have great ratings, but they have money to get new sets.
The Bold and the Beautiful (01:22:39)
Thomas is taking a very weird, very dark and very murder-y turn towards Hope. Bill proposes to Katie who gives him a maybe.
Days of Our Lives (01:30:00)
It’s the moment #CIN fans have been waiting MONTHS for and it finally came (and so did they!) But Ben and Ciara weren’t the only ones sharing a night of romance. On the opposite side of the romantic spectrum, #Stabi put the hate in hate sex as Stefan and Gabi broke each other’s backs in. Parental discretion is definitely advised for this segment. Cause we let our our inner freaks, music montage and all.
Also: Nicole returns to Salem but as Ari Zucker said, she’s not the same old Nicole. What could this means for Rex, Sarah, Eric, Chloe and Brady?
