Bryan Dattilo Back on Contract at ‘Days of our Lives’

Days of our Lives fans rejoice! Longtime star Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) is back on contract and will play a prominent role in an upcoming storyline set for 2021.

Deadline reports the actor’s change in contract status is official as of December 14. Dattilo’s Lucas will be a part a major storyline ex-wife Sami Brady-DiMera (returning star Alison Sweeney) and daughter Allie (Lindsay Arnold).

Bryan Dattilo originated the role of Lucas (then-Roberts) in 1993, playing the role until 2001. The character was “rested”, with Dattilo returning in 2002, where he remained until 2010. The actor returned in 2012. In 2018, the actor was written out giving the character another “rest”, though he made guest appearances.

Days of our Lives is currently in its 55th season, and is produced by Corday Productions, Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday is the executive producer with co-executive producer Albert Alarr. Ron Carlivati is the head writer. The series will celebrate its 14,000 episode on December 17, 2020.
