Season four of Star Trek: Lower Decks premieres on Paramount+ September 7. The series is a half-hour animated comedy which focuses on the support crew who serve on one of Starfleet’s least important ships. Boldly going where no man has gone before, but lower. 

Neon premieres on Netflix October 19. From small-town Florida to the bustling beaches and bright lights of Miami, the series follows three friends as they hustle their way to making it big in the world of reggaeton. The eight-episode comedy captures not only the three besties’ larger-than-life dreams, but also the harsh realities and funny mishaps of surviving the music industry. Daddy Yankee serves as Executive Producer, with original songs produced by Tainy. 

Adult Swim has announced the episode titles for the upcoming seventh season of Rick and Morty. Titles include “How Poopy Got His Poop Back”, “The Jerrick Trap”, “Air Force Wong”, “That’s Amorte”, “Unmortricken”, “Rickfending Your Mort”, “Wet Kuat Amortican Summer”, “Rise of the Numbericons: The Movie”, “Mort: Ragnarick”, and “Fear No Mort.” The new season will premiere October 15. Episodes will air without a break this season. 

Bodies premieres on Netflix October 19. Four detectives, living in four different eras, find the body of the same murder victim in London’s Whitechapel. They soon come to realize their investigations have them central to a mysterious conspiracy spanning over 150 years. 

Freeform is set to celebrate an eerily epic anniversary: 25 years of chills and thrills with 31 Nights of Halloween. From October 1 to October 31, hair-raising entertainment awaits with a collection of Halloween films ranging from timeless classics to contemporary gems. Reconnect with beloved movies, including “Hocus Pocus,” “Monsters, Inc.,” the 30th anniversary of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Cruella” and “The Addams Family,” and cozy up to the Freeform premieres of “Encanto,” “ZOMBIES” and “ZOMBIES 2.” 

Max will be adding top ten lists to its streaming platform. The top ten lists will only include recently added movies or series where new episodes have premiered within six weeks. The lists will be updated daily. They will be joining other streamers like Netflix and Prime Video who already feature a top ten list. 

Season two of Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal premieres on Netflix September 20. On March 2, 2023, Alex Murdaugh was found guilty of the murder of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul. The world watched with bated breath as a verdict was announced. The people of the Lowcountry had been waiting the better part of two years to understand what happened the night of June 7, 2021. The three episode season will feature first-hand accounts from those who were there the days leading up to and following the murders, giving more insight than ever into that deadly night, including Blanca Turrubiate-Simpson (Former Murdaugh Family Housekeeper) and Mushelle “Shelly” Smith (Caregiver for Libby Murdaugh) – who became some of the most powerful witnesses at the trial – Curtis Edward Smith (aka Cousin Eddie), and Gwen Generette, one of the trial’s jurors. Morgan Doughty, Paul’s ex-girlfriend, Anthony Cook, Paul’s friend, and Valerie Bauerlein, Wall Street Journal reporter, also return. 

Netflix has ordered a three episode docuseries based on the Gilgo Beach serial killings. The series will explore the multi-decade quest to bring justice to the families and multiple victims of the mysterious Gilgo Beach serial killer. The case has been cold for 13 years until a suspect was arrested in July 2023, and continues to unfold in real time. It will foreground the stories of the victims’ lives, with exclusive access to their families, and examine the history of the police investigation and recent breakthroughs that led to the identification of Rex Heuermann, who had been hiding in suburban Long Island in plain sight.

CBS is letting Blue Bloods fans vote on favorite classic episodes via the official series social channels, beginning August 31. Viewers are asked to submit their votes between August 31 and September 8 by following @CBSBlueBloods on Facebook. The winning selections will be broadcast weekly on Fridays on CBS. Fans will get to choose from an assortment of episodes across all 13 seasons. 

Docuseries Desperately Seeking Soulmate: Escaping Twin Flames Universe will premiere on Prime Video October 6. The three episode series delves into the world of Twin Flames Universe, an online group run out of suburban Michigan by the captivating YouTube influencers Jeff and Shaleia Divine. The couple’s promise is to match members with their perfect partner, but former participants describe the extreme lengths they have taken in order to claim their “twin flame.” Journalist Alice Hines soon discovers that the promise of true love may come at a price. With real life testimony from former members, exclusive video footage with the group’s leaders Jeff and Shaleia, as well as sit-downs with families of those who remain involved, this spellbinding docuseries recounts the origin story of Twin Flames Universe through the present day – where the group remains active. From encouraging rabid pursuit of exes to attempting to influence members’ sexual orientations and gender identities, each episode uncovers a new shocking truth behind this online community. 

The CW Network (The CW) and Sinclair Broadcast Group, LLC (Sinclair) renewed their affiliations across 35 markets, including 10 markets in which Sinclair provides sales and other services to a CW-affiliated station. In addition, beginning September 1, Sinclair will launch The CW on two new affiliate stations, KOMO-TV, in Seattle, Washington, and WPNT-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – both stations currently broadcast LIV Golf and will expand carriage to include the entire CW Programming offering.

ID will commemorate the powerful life and legacy of Matthew Shepard with The Matthew Shepard Story: An American Hate Crime. The special will air October 9 ahead of the 25th anniversary of Matthew’s passing. When Matthew Shepard, a gay college student, was brutally tortured and left for dead in Wyoming, this shocking act of violence captured the nation’s attention and sparked a debate about the discrimination, danger and violence that many LGBTQ+ Americans face. The event is regarded as one of the worst anti-gay hate crimes in American history as well as a turning point in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. It is a timely tribute to Matthew’s story at a time when the LGBTQ+ community is once again under attack. 

Lil Wayne is set to make his long-awaited return to the VMAs with his first performance in over ten years. Other newly added superstar performers set for the show include Anitta, Doja Cat, Kelsea Ballerini and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. They join previously announced Demi Lovato, Karol G, Måneskin and Stray Kids. The ceremony will air live from New Jersey’s Prudential Center on September 12 at 8PM ET/PT.
