Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire returns for season two May 12 on AMC. The interview continues in season two. In the year 2022, the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac recounts his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy. Picking up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt, Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia. It is in Paris that Louis first meets the Vampire Armand. Their courtship and love affair will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, and Molloy will probe to get to the truths buried within the memories.
Season two of Full Swing premieres March 6 on Netflix. The cameras are back for a second season, as this immersive documentary series follows a diverse group of professional golfers – both returning favorites and new faces – on and off the course across a relentless season of competition on the PGA TOUR, including all four of golf’s Major championships, the Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open Championship, and The Open Championship. And this season brings even more drama, with an unexpected proposed agreement between the PGA TOUR, the DP World Tour and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, backers of LIV Golf, as well as the Ryder Cup, a biennial event, putting golf on the world stage with a team competition consisting of the best players from the US and Europe. It continues to give fans a chance to get to know the players through their wins, their losses, their families & their friends, all throughout a season in professional golf.
Beacon 23 returns for season two April 7 on MGM+. The series takes place in the farthest reaches of the Milky Way and Season One followed Aster, a government agent, and Halan, a stoic ex-military man, whose fates became entangled after they found themselves trapped together inside one of many Beacons that served as a lighthouse for intergalactic travelers. In Season Two, Beacon 23 is now little more than a prison with Aleph onboard, and The Artifact provides more questions than answers. Without a clear path forward, the inhabitants of Beacon 23 must rely on each other, but their conflicting agendas may get in the way.
Netflix has acquired comedy series Tires starring Shane Gilli, premiering May 23. Will, the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, attempts to turn his father’s business around despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane. Netflix also ordered a new stand-up special from Gillis.
Prime Video has ordered drama series El Gato. In this bilingual drama series, Diego Boneta will play Frank Guerrero, the black sheep of his family, who finds himself at the center of a vast conspiracy when he discovers his father was a ’70s vigilante, “El Gato.” Frank returns home to Mexico after the death of his father and finds himself neck deep in a nest of vipers – his estranged family – who are vying for control of his father’s business empire. But Frank’s grief is interrupted when he learns his only inheritance, a seemingly worthless parcel of land on the border, sits atop the lair of a famous costumed vigilante. His father was “El Gato.” Now, Frank is in the crosshairs. To survive, he’ll have to solve mysteries decades in the making and unravel the truth about his father’s connections to a modern-day terror plot.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood has added more to its cast. Rory Alexander, Sam Retford, Séamus McLean Ross and Conor MacNeill join the cast of the prequel series as younger versions of fan-favorite characters from Outlander. The series will explore the lives and relationship of Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser and Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp. The series will center on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie’s parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire’s parents in WWI England.
OWN has renewed First-Time Buyer’s Club for a second season. Production on the next season will begin this year to air later in 2024. The series features Amina Stevens, a dedicated former high school teacher turned realtor who believes there is a path for everyone to become a homeowner and that everyone deserves a place to call their own. It is an authentic and in-depth look at the exciting but complex journey of becoming a homeowner for the very first time, no matter the stage in life.
Prime Video has ordered The Runarounds. The series is a fictional YA drama, inspired by the real band of the same name. The series stars the real-life band’s members – William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher – along with Lilah Pate and Kelley Pereira. It follows a tight-knit group of young adults from all walks of life who come together to form a rock band the summer after graduating from high school. Against the backdrop of Wilmington, North Carolina, The Runarounds will have to choose between succumbing to the pressures of real life, or risking it all to become the greatest band of all time.
Netflix announced documentary miniseries From Dreams to Tragedy: The Fire That Shook Brazilian Football. Five years on, sadly, much remains to be said about the tragic fire that took the lives of ten young people at Ninho do Urubu, the Flamengo club’s training center, in Rio de Janeiro. Now, the story is investigated in depth across three episodes. The series follows the professional careers of some of the fire’s survivors – young people who spent a part of their lives at Ninho do Urubu and whose careers have very much moved on. It also features journalists, football professionals and the victims’ families, as they continue to search for answers. In moving accounts, parents voice their pain and reveal how they have been fighting to get justice for their children since the tragedy occurred.
President Joe Biden joins host Seth Meyers and guest Amy Poehler in studio for a surprise appearance on an all-new Late Night with Seth Meyers February 24. The telecast marks the series’ 10th anniversary. President Biden, who at the time served as vice president, and Poehler were the inaugural guests for Late Night with Seth Meyers on Feb. 24, 2014.
Mahershala Ali, Nicolas, Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ke Huy Quan, Sam Rockwell, Michelle Yeoh and Zendaya are set to present at The Oscars. The 96th event airs March 10 on ABC.
Bluey returns for its first special April 14 on Disney+. It will be the series’ first global rollout. The first new episode, “Ghostbasket,” will premiere April 7, teeing up the debut of the 28-minute special, “The Sign.” “The Sign” marks the longest ever episode of Bluey. “Ghostbasket” is a standard length episode.
Ahead of the season 3 premiere of BMF, STARZ has released BMF: The Dinner, a roundtable conversation where key cast and major figures in the hip hop industry gather to discuss the real cultural impact and “History in the Making” of BMF, the latter of which is a major theme explored in the new season of the drama series inspired by the real life rise of the Flenory family. Animated series Dora premieres April 12 on Paramount+. With all-new CG animation and imaginative character-driven storylines, the upcoming series follows everyone’s favorite bilingual explorer, Dora, and her best monkey friend, Boots, as they embark on epic adventures in a fantastical rainforest. Guided by trustworthy Map, Dora and her friends must work together to overcome many obstacles while being challenged by the sneakiest fox, Swiper. Kathleen Herles, the original voice of Dora the Explorer, returns to the new series as Mami, and Mike Smith Rivera joins the cast as Papi.
