HBO has renewed Dune: Prophecy for a second season. From the expansive universe of Dune, created by Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, the series follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. The series is inspired by the novel Sisterhood Of Dune written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. 

Anime series Dan Da Dan is set to return for a second season July 2025. The series streams on Crunchyroll, hulu and Netflix. The series follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult geek. The two of them started talking after Momo rescued Okarun from getting bullied. However, an argument ensues between them – Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. To make each other believe in what they denied the existence of, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for its UFO sightings, and Okarun goes to a tunnel that is said to be haunted. In each place, they encounter overwhelming paranormal entities that defy comprehension. Amid trouble, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to challenge the paranormal entities! Could this be the start of a fateful romance as well!? 

Hulu has renewed Tell Me Lies for a third season. The series follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years. When Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco meet at college, they are at that formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead the way to irrevocable consequences. Although their relationship begins like any typical campus romance, they quickly fall into an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition premieres on ABC January 2. The home renovation series returns where deserving families get their dream home. 

Season four of Sweet Magnolias will premiere on Netflix February 6. This season storms, emotional and natural, disrupt life in Serenity, bringing Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue even closer in unexpected ways. Come spend the holidays in Serenity, as Season 4 of Sweet Magnolias takes us from Halloween to Christmas, with surprising laughter, unexpected heartbreak, and renewed resolve along the way. While negotiating the twists and turns of their romantic lives, Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen must also navigate the return of old foes, the loss of great loves, and the pain of transition from past dreams to present ones. As the men in their lives pursue their own dreams and the teenagers take uneasy steps toward adulthood, the Magnolias support each other with creative problem-solving, deep-hearted commitment, and — as always — weekly margaritas. 

Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches returns for season two on AMC January 5. The new season continues the journey of Rowan Mayfair after she has unwittingly given birth to the demon Lasher. She is determined to understand what he has become – human or monster? – and to use him to fulfill her purpose as a healer, but when tragedy strikes, she must put aside her own desires and fight to protect her family.    

Acorn TV has ordered Murder Before Evensong based on the first novel in the series by British author the Reverend Richard Coles. Matthew Lewis will star as Canon Daniel Clement, who shares Champton rectory with his widowed mother – opinionated, fearless, ever-so-slightly annoying Audrey – and his two dachshunds, Cosmo and Hilda. When Daniel announces a plan to install a lavatory in the church, the parish is suddenly (and unexpectedly) divided: as lines are drawn, long-buried secrets come dangerously close to destroying the apparent calm of the village. And then Anthony Bowness – cousin to Bernard de Floures, patron of Champton – is found dead at the back of the church, stabbed in the neck with a pair of secateurs. As the police move in and the bodies start piling up, Daniel is the only one who can try and keep his fractured community together… and catch a killer. Further casting announcements will be made at a later date. 

The fifth and final season of You premieres on Netflix in 2025. Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires. 

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live, Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music will premiere on NBC January 27. The special will feature untold stories behind the culture-defining, groundbreaking and news-making musical performances, sketches and cameos of the past 50 years. The three-hour special broadcast event will showcase interviews with musical artists, cast, writers, producers and more who have been part of SNL’s legacy. It will feature more than 50 interviews with musicians, cast members and the creative team. 

The Åre Murders, based on Viveca Sten’s books, will premiere on Netflix February 6. The series takes place in the beautiful town of Åre in Sweden, known for its stunning landscapes. Police officer Hanna Ahlander has been suspended from her job in Stockholm and dumped by her partner when she moves to her sister’s vacation home in Åre. When a young woman goes missing on the icy night of Lucia, Hanna can’t help but start investigating the case. With a tough family situation and an understaffed police station, local police officer Daniel Lindskog reluctantly has to accept Hanna’s help. But the big question is whether they can trust each other. 

Prime Video has renewed FACEOFF: Inside the NHL for a second season. The series will continue to pull back the curtain on the high-stakes world of the NHL. The inaugural season of the series featured NHL superstars Connor McDavid, Matthew Tkachuk, William Nylander and David Pastrnak, among others. Season 2 will deliver unprecedented access to more of the League’s elite players, including more time spent with Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, who made an appearance alongside his brother, Matthew and dad Keith Tkachuk in Episode 3 of the first season. Players joining Brady for Season 2 will be announced at a later date. 

Gabriel Iglesias: Legend of Fluffy premieres January 7 on Netflix. Gabriel reminisces on the perils of life: from dating, to home break-ins, to turbulent plane rides, he is just here to save the world from eternal seriousness. Shot at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, this is Gabriel Iglesias’s fourth comedy special with Netflix. 

Thriller series Conspirators premieres January 2 on ALLBLK. The series follows a group of friends, “The Gang,” Nova, Jellina, Osylus and Kevin working for a local politician, Hudson, who’s running for mayor. After running into an old friend, Jackson, “The Gang” must uncover the truth about his shooting and disappearance, revealing truths about Hudson in the process. These secrets may lead to Hudson dropping out of the race, and more than likely to his arrest; however, with only partial information on the flash drive, the group doesn’t know what to believe. They must find out the truth and decide whether to help Hudson or take him down and execute the biggest hack they’ve ever pulled. 

When the Stars Gossip premieres January 4 on Netflix Set against the breathtaking backdrop of outer space, the series explores love, trust, and human connection in a world where every resource is precious, and emotions run deep. 

Starting Wednesday, January 1, 2025, WBD’s networks and platforms will remain the exclusive home of AEW Dynamite (Wednesdays on TBS) and AEW Collision (Saturdays on TNT), and will also, for the first time, stream those programs live for Max subscribers in the U.S. WBD and AEW will ring in the new year, and the new agreement, with AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen on TBS & Max at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 from Asheville, North Carolina. Fans will witness the aftermath of AEW’s World End in a special New Year’s Day event that will benefit victims of Hurricane Helene, which severely impacted the Asheville area in Sept. 2024. On Saturday, January 4 at 8 p.m., TNT and Max keep the high-flying action going with AEW Collision, emanating live from Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Thundermans: Undercover premieres January 22 on Nickelodeon. The new spinoff series is based on characters from the original live-action show. The series follows Phoebe and Max as they are sent undercover to handle a new threat in the beachside town of Secret Shores and bring Chloe along to develop her superhero talent. It stars original series cast members Kira Kosarin as “Phoebe,” Jack Griffo as “Max,” and Maya Le Clark as “Chloe.” The show also stars Daran Norris as “Thunderford,” and Dana Snyder as the voice of “Dr. Colosso,” as well as new cast members Kinley Cunningham as “Booch” and Nathan Broxton as “Jinx.” The series will also feature guest appearances from original series cast members including: Chris Tallman as “Hank,” Rosa Blasi as “Barb,” Diego Velazquez as “Billy,” Addison Riecke as “Nora,” Audrey Whitby as “Cherry,” Kenny Ridwan as “Gideon,” Helen Hong as “Mrs. Wong,” Jeff Meachum as “Principal Bradford” and Daniele Gaither as “Super President Kickbutt.” Other guest stars include Ryan Ochoa, Jessica Marie Garcia, Lilimar and Anna McNulty.
