The Beast in Me premieres November 13 on Netflix. Since the tragic death of her young son, acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes) has receded from public life, unable to write, a ghost of her former self. But she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth – chasing his demons while fleeing her own – in a game of cat and mouse that might turn deadly. 

Netflix announced new cast additions who will be joining Big Mistakes, Netflix’s previously untitled family crime comedy series co-created by and starring Dan Levy. The series has also started production in New Jersey. New cast members include series regulars Jack Innanen, Boran Kuzum, Abby Quinn, and recurring are Elizabeth Perkins, Jacob Gutierrez, Joe Barbara, Josh Fadem, and Mark Ivanir. Previously-announced cast members Taylor Ortega and Laurie Metcalf will also co-star alongside Dan Levy. In the series, two deeply incapable siblings are blackmailed into the world of organized crime. 

The Girlfriend premieres September 10 on Prime Video. Based on Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name, the series follows Laura (Robin Wright), a woman who seemingly has it all: a glittering career, a loving husband, and her precious son, Daniel. Her perfect life begins to unravel when Daniel brings home Cherry (Olivia Cooke), a girlfriend who changes everything. After a tense introduction, Laura becomes convinced Cherry is hiding something. Is she a manipulative social climber, or is Laura just paranoid? The truth is a matter of perspective. 

Landman returns for season two November 16 on Paramount+. The series is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics. 

Derek Hough has been announced as host of Extra. The 32nd season will premiere on September 8. Hough replaces Billy Bush who departed the series. The 32nd season will be freshly reimagined with brand-new segments built around Hough, original digital content and “Extras,” and with a dynamic new set and graphics. Hough will sit down for engaging and exclusive interviews with celebrity friends and take us behind the scenes of his many projects, including Dancing with the Stars and beyond. Alongside Hough, Senior Correspondent and Weekend Host Mona Kosar Abdi and Correspondent Terri Seymour will also tap into their contacts and continue to cover breaking entertainment news and major Hollywood events, from award show red carpets to one-on-one interviews with Hollywood’s hottest film and TV stars. 

Shailene Woodley will star alongside Lindsay Lohan in hulu’s limited series Count My Lies. The series is based on the book of the same name by Sophie Stava. 

New mystery series Human Specimens will premiere exclusively on December 18 on Prime Video. The series is adapted from the novel by Kanae Minato, one of Japan’s most celebrated mystery writers, known for her international bestseller Confessions which was adapted into the acclaimed film that represented Japan at the 83rd Academy Awards. The dark tale follows Professor Shirô Sakaki, a butterfly researcher, who confesses to turning six young boys, including his own son Itaru, into “human specimens.” 

Food Network is kicking off the season with the return of two fan-favorite, Halloween-themed competitions full of outrageous challenges and spine-tingling, edible creations. Halloween Baking Championship hosted by John Henson premieres September 15. Set in a haunted mansion, the season features a myriad of dessert challenges, including some inspired by the monsters and deranged clowns of competitors’ worst nightmares. Halloween Wars premieres September 21 with host Jonathan Bennett presiding over this year’s mayhem, as teams of cake, sugar and pumpkin-carving artists create deliciously scary scenes and creatures in epic proportions.

HBO Max and GKIDS will continuation their prolific partnership, solidifying HBO Max as the U.S. streaming destination for award-winning Japanese animated films for years to come. The streamer is already the exclusive home of the world-renowned Studio Ghibli catalog in the United States, distributed by GKIDS, and now will be home to additional acclaimed and award-winning animation as part of the expanded deal. On September 1, the first batch of titles included in the new agreement will drop on HBO Max for all subscribers, featuring the works of renowned filmmaker Makoto Shinkai along with the North American streaming debuts and 4K streaming debuts of select titles for premium subscribers. Titles coming to the streamer later in 2025 and 2026 include the critically acclaimed hit film Shin Godzilla from director Hideaki Anno and co-director Shinji Higuchi, for the first time in 4K. Also included will be the works of filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda in 4K streaming debuts, as well as films from filmmaker Masaaki Yuasa, legendary filmmakers Satoshi Kon and Mamoru Oshii, Naoko Yamada, and more. Specific premiere dates for titles will be announced at a later date. 

TNT Sports has reached a multi-year extension with Candace Parker, one of the most decorated basketball players of all-time, for an expanded role across its basketball portfolio. The three-time WNBA Champion and two-time WNBA MVP will continue as an analyst for TNT Sports and CBS Sports’ NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship coverage, a position she’s held since 2019. Additionally, Parker – a two-time National Player of the Year at Tennessee – will expand her college sports commentating duties to include serving as an analyst for TNT Sports’ inaugural seasons of BIG EAST men’s and women’s basketball and Big 12 men’s basketball. Parker will also continue as a lead studio analyst for TNT Sports’ coverage of Unrivaled. She will also continue to contribute to Bleacher Report and its B/R W platform. 

Katrina: Come Hell and High Water premieres August 27 on Netflix. This is the story of a brutal coastal hurricane turned cataclysmic through human error and neglect. Over the course of a gripping and emotional three episodes, the people of New Orleans recount their past, extoll their present and lean into the future of what they and their beloved city survived and have become 20 years later. The series sets the stage for a tragedy – whose man-made elements expose the systemic governmental neglect that led to the city being defenseless in the face of the storm – and Katrina’s devastating impact that changed New Orleans irreparably. Detailed, harrowing and triumphant first-person accounts and never before seen archive illustrate the magnitude of Katrina, the aftermath of the levees breaking and the bungled recovery. 

Bon Appetit, Your Majesty premieres August 23 on Netflix. After time traveling to the Joseon era, a talented chef meets a tyrant prince. Her modern dishes captivate his palate, but royal challenges await her.

A new season of Seeking Sister Wife premiere September 22 on TLC. The series spotlights the evolving dynamics of plural marriage through fresh stories and familiar faces. Featuring two returning families and three new couples, this season dives deep into the emotional highs and lows of navigating polygamous relationships, as each household explores the challenges and rewards of finding a potential new sister wife. As each couple leans into the power of partnership and possibility, their pursuit of love and family unfolds in unexpected ways. 

Season five of Love Is Blind: Brazil premieres September 10 on Netflix. This season welcomes a new batch of hopeful participants over the age of 50 who are ready to find true love and prove that the heart never ages. 

Ratu Ratu Queens premieres September 12 on Netflix. Party has to figure out how to keep her apartment and get promoted despite working illegally; single parent Ance is trying to cope with her only child who is entering her teenage years; Chinta suddenly faces a divorce from her husband; and Biyah is willing to do anything to survive, including dressing up as a hot dog and the Statue of Liberty. Their days are spent in each other’s companionship, filled with dreams of opening a restaurant to the bittersweet loss of their partners. Challenges that come their way eventually strengthen their friendship. The series features the heartfelt story of friendship among four women as they navigate life in a foreign country, presented in a lighthearted manner that many viewers can relate to. Not only will viewers be entertained by the humorous antics of the characters, they will also be touched by how each struggles to survive, navigate love and parenting, as well as discover their identities. 

Emma and Bruce Willis: The Unexpected Journey – A Diane Sawyer Special will air August 26 on ABC. The special takes viewers inside the love story of Bruce Willis and Emma Heming Willis and the new reality this beloved family faces since Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2022. In a rare and candid conversation, Emma Heming Willis shares her deeply personal story with Diane Sawyer, including the joy of their life together, the heartbreak of the diagnosis, and her evolving role as Bruce’s care partner. Emma’s forthcoming book, “The Unexpected Journey,” offers a lifeline for the millions of caregivers who walk this path in silence. The special also reflects on Bruce Willis’s enduring legacy, both on screen and beyond, and Emma’s mission to carry forward his advocacy by shining a light on this rare but devastating disease. Diane will also sit down with some of the leading experts in dementia and caregiving, who share an urgent message about the various forms of dementia in this country.
