SOAPnet has announced that it has reached a milestone, it now is available to 70 million household subsrcribers according to the August 2008 reports from Nielson Media Research. SOAPnet has impressively gained over 4 million subscribers since August 2007.
“Our affiliates continue to find SOAPnet a strong addition to their lineups, and we are thrilled to reach this milestone,”said Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney ABC Television Group. “SOAPnet has always been popular with advertisers, and this added distribution makes a stronger presence across the United States. We look forward to continued momentum throughout 2008-2009, as we continue to add more original programming to our network.”
In addition to the impressive distribution gain, SOAPnet has continued to rank number one among it’s loyal viewers for the past 71 months. It’s top rated original series, General Hospital:NightShift, which is now airing it’s second season on SOAPnet, delivered it’s second highest rated season debut in the cable network’s history. The original programming continues to deliver impressive ratings for the network.
SOAPnet offers same-day episodes of popular daytime dramas including “All My Children,” “Days of our Lives,” “One Life to Live,” “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless” at night for convenient viewing. In addition, the network provides original programs, including “MVP,” “Relative Madness,” and “General Hospital: Night Shift.” Wrapped in a 24-hour environment, SOAPnet also offers primetime classics including “The O.C.,” “One Tree Hill” and “Beverly Hills 90210,” as well as former daytime series “Ryan’s Hope.”
