21-year-old powerhouse vocalist, Ariana Grande, will take the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 24.
The announcement was made during Wednesday’s Total Ariana Live television special, during which the singer performed an acoustic version of her latest hit “Problem,” and previewed her new single, “Break Free,” produced by Zedd. Ariana Grande will perform “Break Free” during the 2014 VMAs, which could turn out to be a great promotional opportunity as her sophomore album, My Everything, hits stores August 25.
“I’m so excited to perform ‘Break Free’ at the 2014 VMAs,” said Grande. “I can’t wait for my loves to see what we’ve been working on.”
This year’s Video Music Awards will take place at the recently renovated The Forum, in Inglewood, California. Jesse Ignjatovic, Amy Doyle, Garrett English and Dave Sirulnick are executive producers for the telecast. Joanna Bomberg, Jen Jones and Lee Lodge are co-executive producers. Hamish Hamilton is directing.
“Problem,” featuring Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, has spent the past five weeks at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
Pre-order My Everything on iTunes and receive “Break Free”.
