Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building returns with season two June 28. Following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver & Mabel race to unmask her killer. However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue – the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny’s homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder. 

Following the success of Squid Game, Netflix has ordered the ten episode reality competition series Squid Game: The Challenge. With both the largest cast and lump sum cash prize in reality TV history, 456 real players will enter the game in pursuit of a life-changing reward of $4.56 million. As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show – plus surprising new additions – their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them. The stakes are high, but in this game the worst fate is going home empty-handed. Recruitment is open now at SquidGameCasting.com. For this round, the Front Man is in search of English-language speakers from any part of the world.

Discovery’s annual Shark Week event kicks off July 24 for a historic 34th year with bigger sharks, bigger breaches, and even bigger findings from the teams of dedicated scientists and researchers in the field. This year features non-stop action as Shark Week takes viewers to new locations – from the Exuma Islands in the Bahamas to Papau New Guinea. The week spotlights innovative shark technology and research to find breakthrough information on these elusive creatures and their mating and migration patterns in addition to the findings of a new, undescribed species. 

Netflix has renewed The Lincoln Lawyer for a second season. Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes and will be based on the fourth book in “The Lincoln Lawyer” series by Michael Connelly, “The Fifth Witness.” The first season is based on the second book in series, “The Brass Verdict.” 

Season two of FBoy Island will premiere on HBO Max July 14. Hosted by Nikki Glaser, the new season follows three new women, Mia Emani Jones, Louise Barnard and Tamaris Sepulveda, who move to a tropical paradise where they’re joined by 26 men – 13 self-proclaimed “Nice Guys” looking for love, and 13 self-proclaimed “FBoys,” there to compete for cold, hard cash. The women will navigate the dating pool together with the hope of finding a lasting love connection. By the finale, all will be revealed: who is a Nice Guy, who is an FBoy, who the women ultimately choose, and who walks away with the prize money.

The Roku Channel has renewed Doomlands for a second season. The new ten episode season will be a continuation of season one, inviting audiences along for more adventures with the infamous Danny Doom and aspiring bartender, Lhandi, as they sling beers across a hellish wasteland in their mobile pub: The Oasis. Facing ruthless desert gangs, memory-stealing creeps, and even mean bathroom graffiti, all this crew’s got to do to survive is not kill each other. The new season will premiere in 2023. 

Season eight of Love Island UK will stream on hulu starting June 21. New episodes stream daily Tuesday through Saturday, as well as Unseen Bits and the weekly recap special Aftersun also streaming on Saturdays. The season eight  finale is slated to air August 16 with a Reunion special to follow with a date to be determined. 

Downton Abbey: A New Era will premiere on Peacock beginning June 24. The followup film is based on the hit TV series Downton Abbey. All six seasons of the TV series, the first franchise film Downton Abbey (2019), plus a one-hour special The Manners of Downton Abbey (2016) are streaming now. 

Hulu has canceled Crossing Swords after two seasons. The stop motion series follows a goodhearted hero wannabe named Patrick, who lands his dream job as a squire, only to learn the royal castle is a corrupt hornet’s nest of horny monarchs, crooks, and charlatans. War, murder, full-frontal nudity—who knew brightly colored peg people led such exciting lives?

Fox is shifting MasterChef Junior back to Thursdays for its season finale on June 23. The network recently shifted the series to a Tuesday time slot but now has reversed course. 

Netflix has renewed Sweet Home for season two and season three. The Korean drama series will film the seasons back to back. The series is based on the webtoon of the same name by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan. 

Season seven of United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell will premiere on CNN July 10. The seven episode series embarks on a cross country journey with comedian and political provocateur W. Kamau Bell as he visits communities across America to explore race, class, and the unique challenges they face. 

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Wendell Pierce and Karen LeBlanc will star in an episode of Fox’s anthology series Accused. Each episode opens in a courtroom on the accused, with viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, the series holds a mirror up to the current times with evocative and emotional stories. Viewers discover how an ordinary person gets caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one wrong turn leads to another, until it’s too late to turn back.

Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa will begin streaming on Netflix in October. The series is a spinoff of the long running anime series Case Closed aka Detective Conan. The series is the second which will stream on Netflix. Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time will stream in July. 

The final episode of The Wendy Williams Show  will air June 17. The syndicated talk show ran for thirteen seasons. Williams was forced to sit out this season due to health issues with guests filling in. Sherri Shepherd was one of the guest hosts and will take over the timeslot on most stations with her own syndicated talk show in the fall. 

ABC is set to air a new episode of Soul of a Nation celebrating Juneteenth. Sound of Freedom – A Juneteenth Celebration will premiere June 17. Hosted by country music star Jimmie Allen, the episode brings together a mix of live performances and conversations with some of music’s biggest stars to highlight the contributions of Black Americans through jazz, gospel, hip-hop and more. 

Roku has ordered two new series. Survival From Above and Lincoln Log Project. Survival From Above is the first-ever survival competition series set entirely in rainforest treetops of Guyana, South America, with contestants suspended 100 feet off the ground. Lincoln Log Project brings audiences into the highly visual and physical world of professional loggers, as master builders create the ultimate dream cabins from the ground up using life-sized Lincoln Logs. Both will premiere in 2023. 

Apple and Major League Soccer have agreed to a ten year deal to air all MLS matches around the world on Apple TV+. In addition to all of the match content, the service will provide fans a new weekly live match whip-around show so they never miss an exciting goal or save, and also game replays, highlights, analysis, and other original programming. This live and on-demand MLS content will provide in-depth, behind-the-scenes views of the players and clubs that fans love. A broad selection of MLS and Leagues Cup matches, including some of the biggest matchups, will also be available at no additional cost to Apple TV+ subscribers, with a limited number of matches available for free. As an added benefit to fans, access to the new MLS streaming service will be included as part of MLS full-season ticket packages. The deal begins in 2023. 

Court TV has renewed Someone They Knew with Tamron Hall for a second season. The series tells stories from the points of view of the people impacted by the case, including lawyers, jurors, members of law enforcement, and the victim’s family and friends. Using new interviews, archival footage, and re-creations of the crime, the goal of each episode is a balanced story from victim to verdict.

Jason Garrett has joined NBC’s Football Night in America. The former NFL quarterback and Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys, will work with host Maria Taylor and analysts Tony Dungy and Chris Simms in Studio 1 at NBC Sports’ International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Co-host Jac Collinsworth and analyst Rodney Harrison will once again anchor FNIA’s coverage from the game site, while NFL Insider Mike Florio will continue to report on the news of the day. 

Comedy special Cristela Alonzo: Middle Classy premieres on Netflix June 28. In the follow up to her 2016 comedy special, Lower Classy, Cristela Alonzo is back for her second Netflix comedy special. With more money and a smile big enough to show off her hard earned new teeth, Cristela is living the American Dream. She hilariously shares the joys of aging in her forties, her first ever experience with a gyno, and the importance of family.

The Challenge: USA premieres on CBS July 6. The series will feature 28 CBS reality titans. Upon arrival, the CBS reality titans are given $1,000 to start their individual challenge accounts, and they quickly discover they must battle to keep and increase their handsome reward. In each episode, an algorithm pairs contestants who will face off to earn money for their accounts by winning challenges or eliminating their opponents. This will not be an easy task, as they will be paired with a randomly selected competitor every episode, making alliances and strategies more difficult than ever. Players must adapt to survive the game and protect their challenge accounts. With the $500,000 grand prize and title of Challenge Champion on the line, players will be in a constant state of paranoia, unable to trust anyone but themselves.
