Season two of The White Lotus premieres on HBO October 30. The seven episode social satire is set at an exclusive Sicilian resort and follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week. The cast for the new season includes F. Murray Abraham, Jennifer Coolidge, Adam DiMarco, Beatrice Grannò, Meghann Fahy, Jon Gries, Tom Hollander, Sabrina Impacciatore, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, Will Sharpe, Simona Tabasco, and Leo Woodall.
Wednesday premieres on Netflix November 23. The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore. Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed and Kaycee Stroh will appear in the upcoming fourth season of Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, reprising their roles from the High School Musical film series. After an epic summer at Camp Shallow Lake, the Wildcats return to East High where they prepare a stage production of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” But plans are disrupted when Principal Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited “High School Musical 4: The Reunion” movie on location at their beloved high school. The Wildcats will play featured extras in the movie. Also joining the cast this season are Kylie Cantrall, Matthew Sato, Caitlin Reilly and Vasthy Mompoint in recurring roles.
Fleishman Is in Trouble premieres on FX November 17 with the first two episodes. The eight episode series is based on the book by Taffy Brodesser-Akner. The series is the story of recently divorced 41-year-old Toby Fleishman, who dives into the brave new world of app-based dating with the kind of success he never had dating in his youth, before he got married at the tail end of medical school. But just at the start of his first summer of sexual freedom, his ex-wife, Rachel, disappears, leaving him with 11-year-old Hannah and 9-year-old Solly and no hint of where she is or whether she plans to return. As he balances parenting, the return of old friends Libby and Seth, a potential promotion at the hospital that is a long time coming – and all the eligible women that Manhattan has to offer – he realizes that he’ll never be able to figure out what happened to “Rachel” until he can finally face what happened to their marriage in the first place.
Netflix has announced that the Queen Charlotte prequel series to Bridgerton has been titled Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, the series tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
Season two of Gangs of London premieres on AMC+ November 17 with two episodes. In the new season, a new, darker era of chaos and turbulent power struggles comes to London. One year after the death of Sean Wallace and the violent reckonings of season one, the map and soul of the city has been redrawn – the surviving Wallaces are scattered, the Dumanis broken and estranged, and ex-undercover cop Elliot Finch (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, Humans, Mr. Malcolm’s List) is now being forced to work for the Investors. As the Investors look down on a city sliding into chaos, they decide enough is enough and bring in reinforcements to restore control. Old favorites and new players fight back against the new order, forcing sworn enemies to work together and family members to betray each other.
CBS will air the season four finale of FBI October 4. The episode was pulled due to the Uvalde school shooting. The episode involves a suspect in a deadly robbery at a school.
John Hawkes, Christopher Eccleston, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, and Anna Lambe have been cast in HBO’s True Detective. They join Jodie Foster and Kali Reis in the anthology series’ fourth season.
Wolf Pack star Sarah Michelle Gellar has teased that the series will premiere January 2023. The Paramount+ series is based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom.
Sheyi Cole has joined the cast of HBO Max’s limited series Full Circle. He joins Zazie Beetz, Claire Danes, Timothy Olyphant, Dennis Quaid and Jharrel Jerome in the series from Steven Soderbergh.
Lukas Gage has been cast in HBO Max’s upcoming series Dead Boy Detectives in a recasting. He replaces Alexander Calvert in the recurring role of Cat King.
The fifth season English dub of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir will premiere on Disney Channel October 8. When Paris is in peril, Marinette becomes Ladybug. Little does she know, her school crush Adrien is actually Cat Noir, another city-saving superhero.
Discovery and Science Channel will air NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) on September 26. The special and its simulcast coverage will be of the NASA feed of DART as the mission undergoes its final leg of its journey to make a first attempt to alter the course of an asteroid by intentionally crashing a spacecraft into it. The spacecraft has a camera with a feed back to Earth that will provide live, stunning visuals to the Discovery and Science audiences during the mission’s approach to the two asteroids.
Following Adnan Syed’s release from prison, ID will premiere Adnan Syed: Overturned September 27. The updated version of the special will bring this incredible story full circle by incorporating the breaking news of Syed’s release, offering an in-depth exploration into how expert true-crime journalism can change the entire direction of a case that many had thought to be closed.
