Netflix has renewed The Upshaws for part six, aka season four. Production on the ten episode season will begin next year. Part five will premiere on the streamer in Spring 2024. Bennie Upshaw, the head of a Black working class family in Indianapolis, is a charming, well-intentioned mechanic and lifelong mess just trying his best to step up and care for his family – wife Regina, their two young daughters and firstborn son, the teenage son he fathered with another woman — and tolerate his sardonic sister-in-law, all without a blueprint for success. But the Upshaws are determined to make it work, and make it to the next level, together. In this upcoming part, the Upshaws continue to ride life’s ups and downs, including new jobs, bigger dreams, health struggles and some major life surprises but still hanging on with the love that comes with family.

Acorn TV has renewed Harry Wild for a third season. Season three, which will air in 2024, picks up where season two left off with Fergus, guided by Harry, planning to contest Paula’s custody claim to Liberty. But it is not plain sailing and there are some surprises in store along the way. The agency is still as busy as ever and Harry and Fergus have to find a way to balance work and life. This time out they’re hired to prove the lead singer of Ireland’s hottest boy band didn’t kill himself, find out who decapitated a woman in a busy restaurant and served her head on a platter, discover who murdered a despotic director on the set of Ireland’s leading daytime soap opera and work out how a mystery writer managed to shoot himself in a locked panic room without a gun.
Hilary Farr will be leaving HGTV’s Love It Or List It after seventeen seasons. Farr appeared in 258 episodes since it premiered in 2011. Real estate agent David Visentin who has been with the show since the beginning will remain with the series. A replacement for Farr will be announced at a later time. Throughout the series, Hilary and David went head-to-head to win over homeowners at a crossroads with their houses. Hilary completed stunning renovations to make them love their digs, while David found spectacular properties to convince them to list their home for good.
Netflix has renewed Nothing to See Here for a second season. Alexis is a young blind man who dreams of becoming a successful comedian. He moves to the biggest city in the world, leaving behind his overprotective father joined by his best friend and “manager”, Charly, who has cerebral palsy. Nothing To See Here is a bittersweet comedy that challenges political correctness while exploring what it means to chase one’s dreams in a world that is blind to functional diversity. In a city chock-full of woke culture, Alexis will show his audience there’s nothing to see here – and much to laugh about.
CBS will air a special primetime presentation of comedy game show Byron Allen Presents Funny You Should Ask December 9. Four episodes of the long-running, nationally syndicated daily comedy game show will air. Each episode, a panel of comedians interact with contestants for cash and big laughs. The laughs and the stakes increase as the contestants ask questions and the comedians give funny answers. Comedians Byron Allen, Adam Carolla, Whitney Cummings, Vivica A. Fox, Billy Gardell, Jamie Kennedy, Natasha Leggero, Jon Lovitz, Jeff Ross and Sheryl Underwood will appear in the episodes.
Season eighteen of So You Think You Can Dance will begin filming this month. No word on when the season will air on Fox. A judging panel will be announced at a later date.
Hulu’s limited series about Sammy Davis Jr. is no longer going forward. Elijah Kelley was set to star in the series from Lee Daniels. The series will be shopped in the hopes of finding a new home.
New episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will return December 4 on CBS. Colbert had emergency surgery due to a ruptured appendix, sidelining the show for a week.
The 29th Critics Choice Awards will be hosted by Chelsea Handler. The ceremony will take place January 29 on The CW. Handler previously hosted the awards show last year.
Fox is set to air The Christmas Break, a holiday film, December 21. When couple Jack and Caroline travel to Caroline’s native Ireland for Christmas, they find themselves at a crossroads in their marriage: Jack is ready for kids, and Caroline isn’t.
