Ghosts new hour long holiday “Ghostmas” special will air December 19 on CBS. In “A Very Arondekar Christmas Part 1” and “A Very Arondekar Christmas Part 2,” a leaky water heater mishap threatens to ruin holiday plans as Sam and Jay prepare to host Jay’s hard-to-please dad, Mahesh, difficult-to-impress mom, Champa, and sister Bela. 

Season two of XO, Kitty premieres January 16 on Netflix. For the first time in the series, Noah Centineo will make an appearance and reprise his role of ‘Peter Kavinsky’ from the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before film franchise. Teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey is back in Seoul for a new semester at KISS. She’s single for the first time in a long time, and ready for a fresh start: no more meddling, no more drama. Maybe just some casual dating. Emphasis on casual. But she has more to worry about than her love life, as a letter from her mother’s past sets her on a wild journey, and new faces at KISS bring change. As secrets unravel and bonds are tested, Kitty will learn that life, family and love are more complicated than she ever imagined. 

Reality hoax comedy revival series The Joe Schmo Show returns January 21 on TBS. Hosted by Cat Deeley, the show-within-a show takes aim at the absurdity of reality TV by making Ben, an electrician from Baltimore, believe he is competing for a chance to win $100,000 on a popular game show when he is, in fact, surrounded by a cast of highly skilled improv comedians. Each of the series’ ten episodes provides a groundbreaking, behind-the-scenes look as the actors and entire working crew scramble to keep Ben from discovering the hoax, something made more difficult by the increasingly over-the-top format of the show. With each challenge, the stakes grow higher as production is forced to pivot storylines, and castmates, who Ben sees as competition, improvise strategies to pave the path to his victory. 

The Old Man has been canceled after two seasons on FX. Dan Chase absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. The series is based on Thomas Perry’s book. 

Apple TV+ has renewed Bad Monkey for a second season. The series is based on the novel by Carl Hiaasen. The first season tells the story of Andrew Yancy, who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey. 

Netflix has canceled Girls5eva after three seasons. The first two seasons aired on Peacock before the series moved to Netflix for its third, and final, season. 

Secret Level has been renewed for a second season at Prime Video. The adult-animated anthology series features original stories set within the worlds of some of the world’s most beloved video games. 

A Bluey movie will premiere in theaters in 2027. The Australian series streams on Disney+ in the US. It follows Bluey, an inexhaustible six year-old Blue Heeler dog, who loves to play and turns everyday family life into extraordinary adventures, developing her imagination as well as her mental, physical and emotional resilience.

Netflix has ordered a new docuseries following the life of Mike Tyson. Known as the youngest heavyweight champion in history (at the age of 20 in 1986), Tyson’s legacy extends far beyond the ropes of the boxing ring, cementing him as one of the most compelling and polarizing figures of our time. From his meteoric rise as the “Baddest Man on the Planet” to his personal struggles – including a period of incarceration and widely publicized struggles (i.e. finances, substance abuse, in-ring controversies) – and eventual redemption, this series will explore the man behind the gloves. 

The broadcast lineup for IHeartradio Jingle Ball 2024 has been announced. The holiday special hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Elvis Duran will air December 18 on ABC. It will feature performances by Katy Perry, twenty one pilots, Tate McRae, Meghan Trainor, Teddy Swims, T-Pain, Benson Boone, Gracie Abrams, Madison Beer, Kane Brown, Paris Hilton, The Kid LAROI, Shaboozey and NCT Dream. It will also feature special appearances by Hailey Bieber, Drew Barrymore, Nikki Glaser, Martha Stewart, Kyle Mooney, the Cast of ‘Queer Eye,’ Madison Bailey, Sarah Michelle Geller, Owen Thiele and many more. 

BET Year in Black 2024, presented by Ford, a one-hour special hosted by CBS News national correspondence and CBS Weekend News anchor Jericka Duncan, will premiere December 29 on BET and BET Her. It will bring together an entertaining roundtable of Black voices, including comedienne/actor Ms. Pat, comedian/actor Michael Blackson, Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee, and comedienne/entertainer Pretty Vee. Together, they will join Jericka Duncan to revisit and countdown the most unforgettable moments of 2024 across pop culture, entertainment, sports, and news. Throughout the special, the panel will offer their ‘hot takes’ on some of the most talked-about stories and viral moments of the year, blending humor and culturally relevant insights. Key moments include Katt Williams’ viral “Club Shay Shay” interview, the epic rap battle between hip-hop icons Kendrick Lamar and Drake, and Usher’s high-profile Super Bowl performance, Beyoncé’s groundbreaking album Cowboy Carter, along with the rise of TikTok star Reesa Teesa and her viral sensation “Who TF Did I Marry” and much more. In addition to pop culture, the special will also countdown the top moments in news and sports, including Vice President Kamala Harris’ historic 2024 presidential campaign, Young Thug’s plea deal, the fierce WNBA rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, Simone Biles’ record-breaking Olympic performance and more. The special will also include an exclusive musical performance featuring Grammy-nominated and former BET Amplified Artist Muni Long. Known for her soulful hits, Muni Long will perform her chart-topping single “Ruined Me” alongside a heartfelt rendition of the holiday classic “Give Love on Christmas Day.” Her performance will add a touch of musical magic to the celebration of Black culture, highlighting the artists and sounds that resonated throughout the year. 

Jonas Brothers will kick off the group’s 20th anniversary celebrations with a thrilling, career-spanning medley performance from New York’s iconic Times Square, airing just after midnight during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025, December 31 on ABC. Members of Jonas Brothers have performed multiple times on the show – three times as a group and five times across their solo projects. 

Who Is Luigi Mangione is set to air on ID in February 2025. The special delves into the lingering questions surrounding Mangione’s arrest and explores how a young man of such wealth and privilege could seemingly commit such a heinous crime. It aims to explore the psychology behind the alleged assassin. Led by television host and correspondent Dan Abrams, alongside other experts, industry insiders, and people close to Mangione, the documentary will examine his mental state and investigate the theories surrounding the events that led to his arrest. 

In 2025, MAVTV will feature all-new shows with country music artists, racing legends, and more live racing, all premiering on the media platform either on cable, FAST channels or streaming. MAVTV will bring GT racing world leader SRO live to fans next season including the fan-favorite GT World Challenge America. Additionally, the prestigious DTM series returns to MAVTV with the expansion into live coverage of world-class racing from iconic circuits across Europe. The ultimate test of endurance and grit, the Dakar Rally, is back on MAVTV with same-day highlights from epic landscapes and grueling challenges. And highlights from the toughest one-day off-road race on Earth, King of the Hammers, follows all the action as fearless drivers conquer treacherous desert and rocky terrain. Following a successful live broadcast of the 2024 Crandon World Championships on Labor Day weekend, MAVTV is solidifying its position as the new television home for off-road racing. New seasons of The Life, On the Rise and Racers Roundtable will be joined by Racing Prodigy and Chase’n. MAVTV will also continue its commitment to recognizing and celebrating trailblazing women in motorsports with a special dedicated to the Women with Drive IV Summit Driven by Mobil 1 and the contributions women are making on and off the track.

Limited series American Primeval will premiere January 9 on Netflix. Cunk On Life premieres January 2 on Netflix. Deadpan documentarian Philomena Cunk confounds philosophers and academics in her quest to understand the meaning of life in this feature-length special.

Manhunt: Luigi Mangione and the CEO Murder – A Special Edition of 20/20 will air December 19 on ABC. The special takes a deep dive into a story that riveted the nation, providing a minute-by-minute investigation of the cold-blooded execution of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and the shocking social media backlash that turned the alleged murderer into a folk hero for some. In an exclusive audio recording of his voice, Luigi Mangione will be heard clearly on national television as he speaks about his travels through Asia. The special also reveals new details about the hunt for the suspect, examines what may have driven alleged killer Luigi Mangione to murder, and profiles new reporting on the writings found in Mangione’s backpack, what police are calling a handwritten confession criticizing the healthcare system, and the three ominous words written on the shell casings. Episodes of The Big Bang Theory are set to premiere on Nick at Nite and MTV. Beginning Tuesday, December 24, Nickelodeon’s nighttime programming block Nick at Nite will host a two-day stunt featuring holiday-themed episodes including the beloved “Leonard Nimoy’s Napkin.” On December 27, episodes will debut with Season 4 on Nick at Nite and air daily from 12-2 a.m. Starting Wednesday, January 1, MTV will air “MTV’s New Year with a Bang,” an all-day marathon of Season 3. Beginning Saturday, January 4, fans can tune in every Saturday and Sunday.
