On Friday, NBC announced early renewals for five of its popular dramas. Chicago Fire, Parenthood, Grimm, Revolution and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit have been granted 22-episode seasons for 2013-14.
“On the verge of our 2013 fall scheduling decisions, we’re pleased to renew five drama series that will be important to our new season line-up,” NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke said in a press release. “We’re proud and very appreciative of all the actors, producers, writers and directors who work so hard to deliver such high-quality work week in and week out. These complex shows represent a broad range of genres, tones and all of them stand out for us in a television landscape now filled with one-hour series.”
Salke went onto to say that the network was “especially-pleased” to be renewing freshmen dramas Chicago Fire and Revolution and promised that there would be more returning series announcements made in the next couple weeks.
The Voice received a two-season pickup order back in September so the popular singing competition will also be on the Fall schedule.
