Marcil Enters The 'Jungle' This FallSorry General Hospital fans, but Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda) is not returning to GH anytime soon. The sexy soap vet has landed a recurring role on NBC’s Lipstick Jungle. Marcil will be playing Josie, a music manager who promises Shane (Paul Blackthorne) a job in a film scoring music.

Marcil started her career on General Hospital in 1992 as Brenda Barrett, a role that ultimately won her a Daytime Emmy 2003. During her time on GH, Marcil’s character was involved in several key storylines including Stone’s death, a romance with Jagger Cates (Antonio Sabato, Jr.), and most famously, a love triangle with Sonny (Maurice Bernard) and Jax (Ingo Rademacher).  She left the role in 1998 to try her hand in primetime and movies. She later returned in ’02 for six months storyline. Fans been clamoring for her return to the soap ever since.

Upon leaving GH, Marcil hit the primetime scene appearing in a made for TV movie, and securing a recurring role on the Steven Spielberg drama High Incident. Vanessa later joined the hit FOX primetime soap Beverly Hills 90210 as Gina Kincaid.

Marcil most recently enjoyed a five year run on the popular NBC show Las Vegas with fellow daytime alum Josh Duhamel (ex- Leo, All My Children). Marcil played Sam Marquez, a casino host for the fictional Montecito casino.  After the series’ cancellation in 2008, many of Marcil’s fans hoped that she would return to her daytime roots.
