First time nominee Hunter King (Summer, Y&R) found out about her nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress by watching her TV. “I found out by turning on GMA at 4:30 in the morning and waiting, and waiting,” she said smiling. “Then the shows’ publicist, Jimmy, texted me and everyone started to tweet me. It was wonderful!”

King says after consulting with her soaps’ publicist on choosing scenes for a submission, she knew what would make a good tape. “Jimmy and I talked about it and I just knew those scenes with Michelle Stafford were the ones to submit because it was a good mother/daughter scene and a lot of people can relate do that. It dealt with divorce and kids dealing with it so I felt it was relatable and deep.”

The actress was very coy when asked what this summer would bring for Summer. “All I am going to say is…I don’t know and I can’t say anything even if I did.” One thing was clear, she really enjoys working at the show. “I love the pace I love being able to film an episode in a day, its fast paced and I love it!”
