Today on SOAPBOX RADIO it was announced that Dallas icon, Linda Gray, will join the cast of the new online production, Winterthorne. Ms. Gray takes on the role of Joanna Winterthorne, the powerful matriarch of the Winterthorne family and mother of lead character, Miranda, played by Martha Madison.

“I have so many special memories of watching Dallas with my own mother, having Linda play my mother now feels like a full circle moment,” says series star Madison, “It’s incredibly special. I’m ecstatic.”

“Working with Linda Gray is a dream come true for me,” adds creator, and Emmy- nominee himself, Michael Caruso, “I have been an enormous fan of her work for many years. I think she’s going to be brilliant in the role.”

Gray’s award winning portrayal of Sue Ellen, in the original Dallas series, brought her international fame and critical acclaim, earning her an Emmy nomination for Best Actress and numerous international awards. After eleven years as the number one show on television, Dallas returned to TNT in 2012 to run for three more seasons.

She’s appeared on stage in England in the original stage production of Terms of Endearment, based on the screenplay of the Oscar winning motion picture and also starred in the West End production of The Graduate, playing to sold-out audiences, going on to replace Kathleen Turner on Broadway for a limited engagement. TV credits include Melrose Place and Models, Inc., as well as numerous movies of the week and feature films, and further stage work in The Vagina Monologues, Agnes of God and Love Letters. Most recently, Gray was seen in the British stage production of the 2014 Christmas pantomime, Cinderella, playing the Fairy Godmother. She begins filming the indie feature, Wally, this month.

Winterthorne begins production for three weeks in late March, both in and outside of the Los Angeles area. Gray joins previously announced cast members Martha Madison and Michael Caruso, as well as Gordon Thompson (Dynasty, Santa Barbara) and Josh Thrower (90210, The Young and the Restless).
