The sexiest serial killer in soap history is returning to Days of our Lives! Robert Scott Wilson is reprising his role as Ben Weston beginning the week of September 25 reports Soap Opera Digest.

“[I’m] honored and excited to bring Ben back to his old stomping grounds,” Wilson told Soap Opera Digest exclusively.  “I couldn’t have asked for a better entrance back to Salem – when no one sees it coming.”

The hunky star’s run as the well-meaning but easily angered Ben took a turn in 2015 as his character spiraled into madness over his obsession with fiancée Abigail Deveraux (then-Kate Mansi). Insecure over his place in Abigail’s life following the return of former flame Chad (Billy Flynn)  and after brief tryst between the two, the rivalry between the two men escalated to war of words and physical brawls. Later, when Salem was terrorized by the “Necktie Killer,” the evidence initially pointed to Chad, but it was revealed to be Ben!

After a murderous spree that resulted in the attack of Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and the murders of four people including Will Horton (then-Guy Wilson), Ben later tried to murder Chad and Abigail by setting their cabin on fire and stealing their child. Though he was captured, Ben later escaped but returned to Salem to gaslight Abigail into going mad (she did). After breaking with reality, she assaulted Ben and tried to set him on fire too! Karma, she keeps receipts, doesn’t she?

Since leaving DAYS in 2016, Robert Scott Wilson has kept busy with modeling and a mixture of TV and film projects such as I Know Where Lizzie Is, The Bay, My Daughter’s Kidnapping, Fright Fest and Father.

We’re curious how Ben plays a role in the return of Will Horton (played by three-time Emmy winner Chandler Massey), and if he will set his sights on Chad and Abigail yet again.

Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.
