The CW has cancelled The Republic of Sarah after one season. Sarah was initially set up at CBS before being passed over and eventually redeveloped at The CW. The series follows a town in New Hampshire which declares its independence and begins rebuilding as a new country. The series finale will air September 6.
Disney+ has renewed Big Shot for season 2. The series stars John Stamos as a former college basketball coach who gets in trouble and ends up trying to restart his career as a coach at an all girls high school. Production on the new season will begin in 2022.
MTV has renewed Jersey Shore Family Vacation for season 5. The new season will also see the return of Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi as she didn’t return full time for the covid-bubble fourth season. The season 4 finale airs tonight on MTV.
Apple TV+ set the upcoming third season of Dickinson as its final season. Season 3 will premiere November 5.
Amazon Prime Video has set the premiere date for their upcoming new series The Wheel of Time. The series is based on the books from author Robert Jordan. The series will premiere November 19.
CBS is developing Topangaland starring Scott Caan. The series brings Caan back into the CBS fold after his run on Hawaii Five-0. The series follows a former cop who works for his father’s private detective agency.
Rainn Wilson has joined the cast of AMC’s upcoming western thriller Dark Waters. The series is executive produced by George R.R. Martin. It will premiere in 2022.
Akbar Gbajabiamila has joined The Talk as a new co-host for the upcoming season. The former NFL player currently hosts NBC’s American Ninja Warrior. He had previously guest hosted episodes earlier in the year. He will join Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots and Jerry O’Connell when the show premieres September 13.
Annie Wersching has joined the cast of Star Trek: Picard. Wersching will recur as Borg Queen in the upcoming second season on Paramount+.
