HBO Max released a brand new spot highlighting the streamers expansive 2023 original programming lineup. Highlights include new drama series The Last of Us, debuting January 15, limited series White House Plumbers, debuting in March, and The Idol, True Detective: Night Country and Rain Dogs. Featured HBO Max originals include the adult animated series Velma, coming January 12, the limited series Love & Death and Full Circle and the return of Warrior. Returning series featured include Succession, Perry Mason, The Gilded Age and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, as well as HBO Original comedies Barry, Somebody Somewhere, The Righteous Gemstones, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Returning HBO Max originals include comedy Hacks, And Just Like That… , Our Flag Means Death, Julia, The Other Two, and more. 

Luther: The Fallen Sun will premiere on Netflix March 2023. The film is a followup to the five season series Luther which starred Idris Elba. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary 

The midseason premiere of Criss Angel’s Magic with the Stars will take place January 20 on The CW. It will follow the season premiere of Penn & Teller: Fool Me at 8. In each episode two celebrities train with Criss and learn his award-winning, revolutionary magic to compete and create a mind-blowing series of magic performances. The celebrity competitors are tasked with mastering three major categories of magic which they perform in front of a panel of three judges: Criss Angel, Loni Love, and Lance Burton. In each episode, the highest-scoring celebrity will win the coveted Golden Wand. Previously announced new episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway? will return at a later date.

Jeff Garlin has been cast in the upcoming fourth and final season of Never Have I Ever. Garlin recently exited ABC’s The Goldbergs following an HR investigation. 

NBC announced the star studded lineup for Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party. Joining Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton live from Miami will be an all-star lineup of musical guests, including acclaimed singer-songwriter FLETCHER, breakout rapper Latto, Los Angeles rock band Liily, viral hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd and chart-topping Grammy Award nominee Sia. The special will also feature appearances from SNL‘s Chloe Fineman, Sarah Sherman and comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy. The special will air December 31. 

Danish series The Nurse will premiere on Netflix in 2023. The series is based on the book by Kristian Corfixen about the true story of the Danish nurse who was convicted of attempted manslaughter of four patients at Nykøbing Falster Hospital.

AXS TV will continue its successful partnership with iconic global professional wrestling organization New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), acquiring 45 all-new episodes of the promotion’s popular weekly series, kicking off with five weeks of NJPW’s premier Wrestle Kingdom 17 coverage, starting January 12. The popular NJPW series follows IMPACT Wrestling’s flagship IMPACT! series, forming a formidable combination of world-class professional wrestling programming every Thursday on AXS TV. 

Patti LuPone has been cast in Disney+’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos. The Marvel WandaVision spinoff series follows Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn. LuPone also joins Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata and Emma Caulfield. 

NBC will ring in the New Year with a live broadcast of the 134th Rose Parade Presented by Honda. Mario Lopez and Ana Gasteyer will take the reins for this year’s telecast from Pasadena, Calif., on January 2. NBC is celebrating its 96th year broadcasting the Rose Parade, beginning on radio in 1927 and then televising the annual event beginning in 1954. 

Two new specials join the Shock Docs Sundays line-up with true tales of terror on Travel Channel and discovery+. Michigan Hell House premieres January 29. Paranormal investigator Steve Shippy and psychic medium Cindy Kaza attempt to identify the evil that rocked a family and their home. The Devil’s Academy will premiere February 5. The series reveals the shocking haunting that took over Miami Aerospace Academy and its students.

Manifesto of a Serial Killer premieres January 1 on Oxygen. The three episode series is a gripping account of how the disappearance of Paul Cosner is connected to a landmark investigation of a California serial killer.

FC Barcelona – A New Era will premiere on Prime Video December 28. The docuseries follows the ins and outs of the last two years of the club seen from the perspective of the first team. It covers the process of rebuilding the squad and the economic and institutional regeneration of the Blaugrana. A story that begins with one of the most painful results in its history with the 2-8 loss in Lisbon against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals and ends with the 2022/23 preseason and the signing of new players, led by by Robert Lewandowski.

Floribama Murders will premiere January 7 on Oxygen. The series takes a look at some of the most outrageous and attention grabbing murders in Florida and Alabama. 

Big Bet premieres on hulu December 21. Having grown up under a criminal father and poverty, Cha Moosik tries all he can to survive. Once an English teacher, he builds his empire in the underground gambling business. All seems to go as planned when a sudden tax investigation forces him to leave everything behind and run off to the Philippines. Can Cha Moosik get back on his feet? Will he win on his next gamble?
