SAG-AFTRA has reached a tentative agreement with AMPTP. The guild will now vote to ratify the new three year contract with the studios. The strike will officially end at 12:01 AM on November 9. Networks will likely begin to push more series to next season as there will be limited space on the midseason schedule. Older series will likely begin production in the coming weeks with an eye on a premiere in February or March, with 10-13 episode orders likely.
New series Bookie premieres on Max November 30 with two episodes weekly. The darkly funny comedy follows veteran Los Angeles bookie Danny as the potential legalization of sports gambling in California threatens to upend his business for good. Alongside best friend and former NFL player Ray, side-hustling sister Lorraine, and reluctantly reformed drug dealer Hector, Danny must contend with his increasingly unstable clients as he tries to settle their debts – all while making plenty of risky bets of his own. Full of relatable mishaps, Bookie chronicles one man’s journey to adapt to an ever-changing world as he attempts to charm and con his way to the top.
My Life with the Walter Boys premieres December 7 on Netflix. Based on the novel “My Life with the Walter Boys” by Ali Novak, the heartwarming coming of age story follows fifteen-year-old Manhattanite Jackie Howard after losing her family in a tragic accident. Jackie leaves behind her privileged and proper life in New York and moves to rural Colorado to be with her guardian – her mother’s best friend, Katherine, who is raising ten kids with her husband, George. While settling into her new, chaotic countryside home, Jackie is determined to stay focused on her dream of getting into Princeton… all while wrapping her head around her feelings for two very different Walter brothers: the reliable and bookish Alex, and the mysterious and troubled Cole. Timothée Chalamet is set to host Saturday Night Live November 11. This will be his second time as host. Boygenius will serve as musical guest for the first time.
Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas premieres on Apple TV+ November 22. A companion album will launch on the same date. Recorded live at The Coliseum in London, one of London’s oldest and most beautiful theaters, the one-hour special will feature Hannah Waddingham ringing in the season with musical performances of beloved Christmas classics. Joining Waddingham on stage will include Sam Ryder, Luke Evans, Leslie Odom Jr., Phil Dunster and more special guests, with additional performers including the English National Opera, the London Gay Men’s Chorus, The Fabulous Lounge Swingers and an 18-piece band. The English dub of The Dreaming Boy is a Realist (Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha) will premiere on HIDIVE November 24. Wataru Sajou, who is deeply in love with his beautiful classmate Aika Natsukawa, approaches her without getting discouraged. However, one day, he wakes up thinking he’s not good enough to be with her. Wataru starts keeping a distance from her, much to Aika’s surprise. Did his intentions slip by her because she was getting impatient?! This is the start of a romcom revolving around two people who just can’t get their feelings across and both think their love is unrequited!
CBS will air the first two episodes of Paramount+’s Lawmen: Bass Reeves November 5. Revealing the untold story of the most legendary lawman in the Old West, the anthology series follows the journey of Reeves and his rise from enslavement to law enforcement as one of the first Black U.S. Deputy Marshals west of the Mississippi. Despite arresting over 3,000 outlaws during the course of his career, the weight of the badge was heavy, and he wrestled with its moral and spiritual cost to his beloved family. Future iterations of the series will follow other iconic lawmen and outlaws who have impacted history.
Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team will premiere on Netflix December 12. The all-access sports series will allow audiences to intimately follow the U.S. Women’s National Team’s players and coaches and reveal an inside look at the most decorated team in soccer history. Viewers will get a first-hand look at the pressure, the euphoria, the joy, and the hardships that these world-class athletes experience as they strive to capture their third World Cup title in a row. Issues ranging from injury, criticism and doubt, equal pay, and upholding legacies are all brought to light as the narrative unfolds. The series will capture all of the personal and team preparation on the road to the 2023 FIFA World Cup. Throughout their tournament run, audiences will learn how this team stands on the shoulders of those who played before them, and how they continue to break the glass ceiling for equality in sports for women of the future. The series will include veteran champions like Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan, 18-year-old rising star Alyssa Thompson as well as U.S. Women’s World Cup Team first timers Savannah DeMelo, Lynn Williams and Kristie Mewis.
WE tv has acquired syndication rights to CBS’ S.W.A.T. and will premiere on the network November 12. Inspired by the television series and the feature film, the series stars Shemar Moore as a former Marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant, tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson strives to bridge the divide between his two worlds and acclimate to his new duties as the legal guardian of a teenager. Hondo’s elite unit includes David “Deacon” Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer and dedicated family man who always puts the team first; Christina “Chris” Alonso, a skilled officer and the team’s canine trainer; Dominique Luca, an expert driver who gets them in and out of high risk situations; Victor Tan, who started in the LAPD Hollywood Division and uses his confidential informants in the community to help the team; and Jim Street, the team’s cocky newest member who is re-instated to S.W.A.T. after being fired for compromising the unit. Responsible for the management of all Metro Division S.W.A.T. units is Commander Robert Hicks, a senior LAPD official with the Special Operations Bureau.
Disney’s plan to integrate hulu into Disney+ will begin this December. A full launch will take place in March 2024 following the planned beta program in December.

Shawn Corey Carter, known worldwide as the hip-hop artist JAY-Z, is one of the biggest multihyphenate superstars and business executives of our time. In the rare, wide-ranging interview, JAY-Z talks with King about growing up in the Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, facing some difficult issues and how music was his path out. With King, he opens up about his business career, how he makes music and the stories behind some of his famous lyrics. The special also features footage from a 2002 60 MINUTES II interview, where viewers will see a younger JAY-Z on the cusp of being the mogul he is today.

Docuseries Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God premieres on HBO November 13. The series chronicles the life and death of Amy Carlson, also known as “Mother God,” a self-proclaimed spiritual savior who promised an escape from the “3D” world via her online manifestos and live-streaming sessions. As her most fervent acolytes came to live with Amy, they cared for “Mother God,” whose health gradually declined. Amy’s followers joined her in believing that her physical demise was the result of her taking on the pain of the world, and that her deterioration would ultimately lead to her evacuation by UFO and salvation for humanity. Told through the eyes of Amy’s devotees, both former and still practicing, and constructed almost entirely from the cult’s archival footage, the series captures the early boom of internet proselytizing and the perils of a conspiracy-driven faith. “Mother God” was born Amy Carlson in Kansas in 1975. Increasingly disaffected with a financially unsustainable and exhausting life as a young mother of three working as a McDonald’s manager, she turned to the internet, finding hope in the vast echo chamber of New Age spirituality, conspiracy theories, and supernatural ideologies, eventually founding Love Has Won as a destination for the disenchanted. After abruptly leaving her family, Amy proclaimed herself able to take on humanity’s pain, and as “Mother God,” gave daily online spiritual sessions for money while her commune supported itself by selling products, specifically advocating the use of colloidal silver as a healing elixir. Despite professing a faith in universal love, the cult had a darker, conspiracy-laden side as well. Blinded by her beliefs, fueled by alcohol and drugs, and with a distrust of science and medicine, Amy became trapped in a reality of her own making, eventually succumbing to a death that her followers understood as her ascension to the next realm. Even after her death, her followers continued their devotion to her, until her mummified body was discovered by authorities in the communal home weeks after her demise.
Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie premieres on Peacock December 8. Monk returns to solve one last, very personal case involving his beloved stepdaughter Molly, a journalist preparing for her wedding.
