The English dub of MF Ghost premieres on Crunchyroll October 20. The series is a followup to Initial D. Japan adopts self-driving electric automobiles and renders most gas engines obsolete by 202X. The fastest cars find new life in the MFG, a racing circuit held on Japanese motorways. Drivers from around the world race for a shot at the title. Kanata Rivington returns from Britain to Japan for the MFG—and to find his father. Can he win the title and find answers? Buckle up and push it to the limit!

The fifth and final season of Star Trek: Lower Decks premieres on Paramount+ October 24. The crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos is tasked with closing “space potholes” – subspace rifts that are causing chaos in the Alpha Quadrant. Pothole duty would be easy for Jr. Officers Mariner, Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford … if they didn’t also have to deal with an Orion war, furious Klingons, diplomatic catastrophes, murder mysteries and scariest of all: their own career aspirations. This upcoming season on Paramount+ is a celebration of this underdog crew who are dangerously close to being promoted out of the lower decks and into strange new Starfleet roles. 

Creature Commandos premieres December 5 on Max. The series tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they’re your last, worst option.

Season three of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will premiere on Paramount+ in 2025. Rhys Darby will guest star in the upcoming season. The series is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series follows Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, Number One and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the starship, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy. 

Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ March 4. The series stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who reprise their roles as Daredevil and Wilson Fisk. 

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy has been renewed for a second season ahead of its first season. It was also announced that Tatiana Maslany will be a recurring special guest star in season one. The series will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy. The series will introduce viewers to this young group of cadets as they come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism. Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they will discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself. 

Rose McIver will direct an episode of CBS’s Ghosts. McIver stars in the series as Sam. It was also announced that  Sakina Jaffrey and Bernard White will star in the Christmas episode as Jay’s parents. 

The English dub of Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Disturbance premieres October 24 on Crunchyroll. During the upheaval of the Bakumatsu Era, the Imperialist Kenshin Himura was feared as the “Hitokiri Battosai.” Although he carries a sakabato in his hand, he swore to never kill again and spends his days living in the new era as a ruruoni. On May 14th, Meiji 11, one of the “Three Great Nobles of the Restoration,” Toshimichi Okubo, was killed. Behind the scenes of this incident that would change the times, Makoto Shishio plans to overthrow the Meiji government. Kenshin says his goodbyes to Kaoru Kamiya and sets off to Kyoto, where he plans on stopping Makoto Shishio, a successor to the title “Hitokiri Battosai” himself. Kenshin leaves his friends behind, encounters new people and fights against the Shishio clan. Caught between his destiny and his promise to never kill again, the curtain rises once again for the second season of Rurouni Kenshin, a story filled with the memories and feelings of all involved!

Star Trek: Section 31 premieres January 24 on Paramount+. Michelle Yeoh reprises her fan-favorite role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou – a character she played in Star Trek: Discovery’s first season – who joins a secret division of Starfleet. Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past. 

Adult-animated anthology series Secret Level premieres December 10 on Prime Video. The series features original stories set within the worlds of some of the most beloved video games. It will feature Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, Keanu Reeves, Temuera Morrison, Ariana Greenblatt, Heaven Hart, Emily Swallow, Gabriel Luna, Ricky Whittle, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Merle Dandridge, Claudia Doumit, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Clive Standen, Laura Bailey, and Michael Beach. 

An anime adaptation of The Beginning After the End is coming to Crunchyroll in 2025. After a mysterious death, King Grey is reborn as Arthur Leywin on the magical continent of Dicathen. Although he enters his second life as a baby, his previous wisdom remains. He begins to master magic and forge his own path as the years go by, seeking to correct the mistakes of his past life.

Crunchyroll announced several titles coming soon to its streaming service around the world in 2025. Those titles include OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She’s Saying, Go For It, Nakamura-kun!, and I’m a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might as Well Try Mastering Magic. Additionally, following the thrilling conclusion of HIGH CARD Season 2, it was confirmed that HIGH CARD Special Episode “THE FLOWERS BLOOM” will be coming to Crunchyroll on November 5. Trailers for ZENSHU and Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE were also released.

Cartoon Network and Max’s upcoming animated series Iyanu will premiere in Spring 2025. The series is a superhero tale set in the magical kingdom of Yorubaland, which draws from Nigerian culture, music and mythology. Drawing deeply from the rich tapestry of Yoruba people, the animated series follows a teenage orphan girl, Iyanu, who spends her days studying history and ancient arts but yearns for a normal life. One day, responding to danger, she unknowingly triggers her divine powers, the likes of which have not been seen since the Age of Wonders. With newly discovered superpowers, Iyanu joins forces with two other teenagers, Biyi and Toye, as they embark on a remarkable journey to discover the truth about the evil lurking in her homeland. Throughout her adventure, she’ll uncover the truth about her past, her parents, and her ultimate destiny to save the world.
