HBO has renewed two comedies, two drama series, and one limited series for new seasons. Comedies The Chair Company and I Love LA will return for second seasons. Game of Thrones series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon will return for new seasons. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which premieres January 18, will return for season two in 2027. The newly ordered season four of House of the Dragon will return in 2028, with season three set to premiere Summer 2026. Initially announced as a limited series, Task will return for a second season with Mark Ruffalo to return.
Season three of Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal premieres January 11 on adult swim. Combining artistry and pulse-pounding action, the first two seasons followed Spear as he formed an unlikely bond with an almost extinct dinosaur and later made the ultimate sacrifice after a final standoff turned fatal. The third season opens with a shocking twist that resurrects Spear in a new form – stripped of memory and humanity – and forces him to roam a brutal, untamed world as a shadow of his former self. Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart will return for a new season January 2026. Brooke Shields will return to Hope Valley in the new season.
PBS MASTERPIECE series All Creatures Great and Small has been renewed for a seventh and eighth season, each to be comprised of six episodes plus Christmas Specials. The series is based on the books by James Herriot. Season six will premiere January 11. The series jumps forward in time to 1945. The intervening years have seen our cherished Skeldale gang somewhat scattered with James and Helen now living at Heston Grange farm, Tristan serving overseas, Mrs. Hall away and Siegfried struggling to cope on his own at Skeldale, but they gladly reunite as the war in Europe comes to a close and look forward to a peaceful future. The series brings its usual soothing warmth, humor and sense of community alongside a host of animals great and small.
Apple TV has ordered The Unlikely Cook with Awkwafina. In the series, Nora Lum, aka Awkwafina, embarks on a deeply personal cross-country journey as she explores contemporary Asian American cuisine, starting with her family’s remarkable legacy. Nora’s family ran Lum’s, the iconic Cantonese restaurant in Flushing, New York, and the very first in a now thriving Chinatown. But despite growing up in the family business, she can’t cook. At all. She could ruin an instant ramen.With help from acclaimed chefs, restaurateurs and her characterful family, she travels the country to explore what it takes to master Asian food in the kitchen and whether she will ultimately reimagine Lum’s legacy for today.
The Way Home will be ending with its upcoming fourth season. Production is underway on the final season which will premiere on Hallmark Channel in Spring 2026.
Necar Zadegan has joined the cast of CIA in a recast. Zadegan replaces Michael Michele who recently left the FBI spinoff series which is set to premiere February 23 on CBS.
HGTV’s Celebrity IOU will return with five new episodes beginning December 28. BritBox has renewed Time for a third season. Set within a Young Offenders Institution, the season will explore the impact of locking up teenagers and the effects on those who look after them.

The star-studded music special features a dazzling array of country’s biggest names and hosted by country music icon Trisha Yearwood. Stranger Things cast members will make a series of guest appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. A special one-minute series recap featuring the cast, plus Joe Keery will appear on the Thanksgiving episode on November 27. Millie Bobby Brown will co-host with Fallon on December 7. Later in December, a full week of guests including Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin and The Duffer Brothers will appear. Apple TV has pulled the premiere of French thriller series The Hunt. The series was originally set to premiere December 3. A new date will be announced at a later time.

ESPN has reached a multi-year contract extension with women’s basketball analyst Rebecca Lobo. She will continue as one of ESPN’s lead voices on women’s college basketball and WNBA coverage, including regular-season games, Champ Week, the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and the WNBA Finals. Lobo will also remain a contributor across ESPN, including SportsCenter and special programming around the women’s game.
