The Terrors of Jordan Mendoza premieres September 13 on adult swim. Created by, starring, directed, and executive produced by Mendoza, the quarter-hour series follows a very scared man as he navigates a barrage of absurd, terrifying, and hilarious dreamscapes. Blending sharp comedy with surreal horror, the series dives deep into the subconscious to explore fears that are both deeply personal and strikingly universal. The freshman series also features an all-star lineup of guest talent including Thomas Lennon, Marc Maron, Fred Melamed, Haley Joel Osment, Randall Park, Wanda Sykes, Eva Victor, and Steve Buscemi, to name a few.

Fox has ordered comedy series Mammoth. The series follows Coach Tony Mammoth, a larger-than-life high school gym teacher whose life is put on ice in 1983, when he’s buried in a freak ski avalanche. Forty years later, he thaws out to a world that has completely changed…but he’s convinced it really didn’t need to. Still clinging to life in the ’80s – complete with his Burt Reynolds moustache and treasured Trans-AM — Mammoth returns to the job he loves, only to discover that today’s rules, relationships, and realities bear little resemblance to the world he once knew. It is based on the original BBC Studios U.K. production of the same name.
Jeff Goldblum will host the season two premiere of Saturday Night Live UK September 12. CMAT will serve as musical guest. The series streams on Peacock in the US.
Sweet Deceit premieres October 5 on Food Network. The series challenges teams of three competitors to search for deceptive, hyper-realistic sweets hiding in plain sight in real-world locations. The series is hosted by actor Josh Peck, who hilariously commands the on-screen hijinks as he leads contestants through four rounds as they try to identify masterfully disguised sweets created by world-class cake artists. Escalating in difficulty round by round, the teams work together to determine what is cake and prove it with their teeth by biting into their best guess, all in pursuit of a total prize up to $12,000.
CBS will celebrate the road to the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) with two new primetime specials. Donnie Wahlberg will host Best of VMAs: Iconic Vanguard Performances on September 13. Vanessa Lachey will host Best of VMAs: Unforgettable Moments on September 20. The 2026 VMAs air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 27 (7:30-9:30 PM, ET/4:30-6:30 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network, simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ (Premium) in the U.S. The show will also be available globally the next day on Paramount+ and MTV.

A special advance premiere of Best Medicine will air September 20 on Fox. The second season will then make its official return September 22. While Martin continues to struggle with his blood phobia, a mermaid washes ashore in Port Wenn to the amazement of everyone in town. Meanwhile, Judith, a well-meaning townsperson (guest star Andrea Martin), creates havoc while on prescribed oxygen, Louisa continues to see Martin’s girlfriend Eden for medical guidance and Greg and George’s success from the seas urchin boom take its toll on the both of them.

Norah O’Donnell is returning to CBS Mornings September 8 as co-host, alongside Gayle King and Nate Burleson. O’Donnell previously co-hosted from 2012 to 2019 before joining CBS Evening News until 2024. She was also previously announced to be joining 60 Minutes for its upcoming season.

Unmasking a Monster: Aileen Wuornos premieres September 30 on ID. The Scream Murder: A True Teen Horror Story Podcast premieres September 4 on Disney+ and hulu. Based on the Hulu documentary, the six-part series – with new, never-before-seen material and hosted by the producers of the original documentary, Pat Rogers and Conor McCarthy – takes viewers deeper into the slaying of Idaho teenager Cassie Stoddart by killers influenced by a horror film.
