‘The Vampire Diaries’ Preview: It’s Enzo vs. Stefan (Again)

When The Vampire Diaries kicked off its sixth season, we got to see what almost everyone has been up to since the Other Side collapsed four months ago. Enzo was nowhere to be found as the group struggled (and failed) to move on with their lives. The last time we saw Damon’s former cellmate, he’d returned from the dead and walked away before Damon and Bonnie’s failed resurrections.

Enzo returns in “Yellow Ledbetter” as a man on a mission – he’s searching for a way to bring his friend and Bonnie back. He recruits Caroline to help him and then brings her straight to Stefan – who, as we know, has given up the quest and decided to move on with his life. We’re guessing that’s not going to go over well with Caroline and as the video below shows, it doesn’t go over well with Enzo either.

While we’re always and forever Team Stefan, we have to admit Enzo has a point. Given how often this group has died and come back to life, it does seem like Stefan’s thrown in the towel a little too soon. And we get it – he failed to save his brother and he doesn’t feel like a hero anymore. But it’s time to pick up the pieces and get back on track.

Meanwhile, Elena and Alaric kick off their plan to compel away her memories of Damon, but it’s not going well. Jeremy seems less than impressed with his sister’s coping mechanisms. We would agree with him, but it’s not like Jeremy’s doing much better so maybe there’s someone else who can counsel Elena?

If all that wasn’t enough to get us excited for the episode, the show’s executive producers promise that we’re going to find out more about where Damon and Bonnie are and how the clues, including the episode title (a Pearl Jam song from 1992), plays into the mystery. We are definitely anxious to learn what’s happening with the not-so-dead twosome. And hopefully there will be more vampire pancakes…
