HBO has renewed Dune: Prophecy for a second season. From the expansive universe of Dune, created by Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, the series follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. The series is inspired by the novel Sisterhood Of Dune written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
Anime series Dan Da Dan is set to return for a second season July 2025. The series streams on Crunchyroll, hulu and Netflix. The series follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult geek. The two of them started talking after Momo rescued Okarun from getting bullied. However, an argument ensues between them – Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. To make each other believe in what they denied the existence of, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for its UFO sightings, and Okarun goes to a tunnel that is said to be haunted. In each place, they encounter overwhelming paranormal entities that defy comprehension. Amid trouble, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to challenge the paranormal entities! Could this be the start of a fateful romance as well!?
Hulu has renewed Tell Me Lies for a third season. The series follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years. When Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco meet at college, they are at that formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead the way to irrevocable consequences. Acorn TV has ordered Murder Before Evensong based on the first novel in the series by British author the Reverend Richard Coles. Matthew Lewis will star as Canon Daniel Clement, who shares Champton rectory with his widowed mother – opinionated, fearless, ever-so-slightly annoying Audrey – and his two dachshunds, Cosmo and Hilda. When Daniel announces a plan to install a lavatory in the church, the parish is suddenly (and unexpectedly) divided: as lines are drawn, long-buried secrets come dangerously close to destroying the apparent calm of the village. And then Anthony Bowness – cousin to Bernard de Floures, patron of Champton – is found dead at the back of the church, stabbed in the neck with a pair of secateurs. As the police move in and the bodies start piling up, Daniel is the only one who can try and keep his fractured community together… and catch a killer. The special will feature untold stories behind the culture-defining, groundbreaking and news-making musical performances, sketches and cameos of the past 50 years. The three-hour special broadcast event will showcase interviews with musical artists, cast, writers, producers and more who have been part of SNL’s legacy. It will feature more than 50 interviews with musicians, cast members and the creative team.
The Åre Murders, based on Viveca Sten’s books, will premiere on Netflix February 6. The series takes place in the beautiful town of Åre in Sweden, known for its stunning landscapes. Police officer Hanna Ahlander has been suspended from her job in Stockholm and dumped by her partner when she moves to her sister’s vacation home in Åre. When a young woman goes missing on the icy night of Lucia, Hanna can’t help but start investigating the case. With a tough family situation and an understaffed police station, local police officer Daniel Lindskog reluctantly has to accept Hanna’s help. But the big question is whether they can trust each other.
Prime Video has renewed FACEOFF: Inside the NHL for a second season. The series will continue to pull back the curtain on the high-stakes world of the NHL. The inaugural season of the series featured NHL superstars Connor McDavid, Matthew Tkachuk, William Nylander and David Pastrnak, among others. Season 2 will deliver unprecedented access to more of the League’s elite players, including more time spent with Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, who made an appearance alongside his brother, Matthew and dad Keith Tkachuk in Episode 3 of the first season. Players joining Brady for Season 2 will be announced at a later date.
