FX has renewed The Bear for a fifth season. In the latest season, the series’ fourth, Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are pushing forward, determined not only to survive, but also to take The Bear to the next level. With new challenges around every corner, the team must adapt, adjust and overcome. The pursuit of excellence isn’t just about getting better – it’s about deciding what’s worth holding on to. The series also stars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.
A series inspired by Jennette McCurdy’s “I’m Glad My Mom Died” will stream on Apple TV+. The series will star Jennifer Aniston. It is a heartbreaking and hilarious recounting of McCurdy’s struggles as a former child actor while dealing with her overbearing, domineering mother. The dramedy will center on the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid’s show, and her narcissistic mother who relishes in her identity as “a starlet’s mother,” set to be played by Aniston.
Docuseries Necaxa will premiere August 7 on FXX. It will premiere two episodes each Thursday for the first three weeks followed by one episode each Thursday until the season finale on Thursday, September 18. The series is an espionage thriller that explores the darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it. It also features Chris Pratt reprising his role as “James Reece.”
Dan Stevens has joined the cast of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. The four piece special event will premiere on Disney+ September 19.
Michael Imperioli will star in Fox’s upcoming new series Memory of a Killer. He joins Patrick Dempsey in the series inspired by the 2003 award-winning Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer. The series is a dramatic thriller about a hitman, Angelo Ledda, leading a dangerous double life while hiding an even deadlier personal secret – he has developed early onset Alzheimer’s. Imperioli will star as Dutch, an accomplished Italian chef who owns a restaurant in the Bronx, a stalwart establishment that is also a front for Dutch’s less sociable activities – such as running a criminal enterprise. As ruthless and mercurial as he is affable, Dutch is Angelo’s oldest friend, as well as his employer – he gives Angelo the targets for his hits. In a business as dangerous as theirs, Angelo must trust Dutch. But being trustworthy isn’t one of Dutch’s more dependable qualities.
