Season six of Slow Horses premieres September 16 on Apple TV. The series is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known unaffectionately as Slough House. Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes and who frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world. The new season sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.
Ahead of its second season, FX’s Adults surprised a sold-out crowd at Tribeca Festival tonight with the screening of a special prequel episode that introduces the lovable friend group and reveals Paul Baker’s origin story. The special episode entitled “Marathon Day” will be available for fans everywhere on Friday, July 31 on FXX and Hulu at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT. The full prequel episode will also be available beginning July 31 for a limited sneak peek on Hulu’s YouTube channel and FX’s TikTok and Instagram channels.
Apple TV has renewed Widow’s Bay for a second season. In “Widow’s Bay,” something lurks beneath the surface. Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys) is desperate to revive his struggling community. There’s no Wi-Fi, spotty cellular reception and he must contend with superstitious locals who believe their island is cursed. He wants these people to respect him. They don’t. She quickly connects with the women but remains bold and unapologetically outspoken.
Anime series Thunder 3 is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix worldwide on July 8. The series is a story centered on the unbreakable bond between three childhood friends as they embark on a desperate search for a missing girl. The series follows Pyontaro, an ordinary middle schooler, and his two best friends, Tsubame and Hiroshi – a trio known as the Small 3. Their lives are upended when Pyontaro’s cheerful younger sister, Futaba, suddenly vanishes. Joining forces to find her, their search quickly escalates into a profound adventure that takes them far beyond their wildest imagination.
