Prospect Park and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) have reportedly inked a deal that will pave way for union writers to work on the reboots of All My Children and One Life to Live.
Daytime Confidential was the first to break the news of the deal. According to DC’s Jamey Giddens, the holdup was over residuals. “Prospect Park hopes to air the episodes of All My Children and One Life to Live on cable and in other countries, after their initial online airings. The WGA couldn’t afford to make a deal that didn’t include residuals for the writers.”
With deals in place with the SAG-AFTRA, DGA and now WGA, it should be full steam ahead for the long-awaited projects. Production for the new All My Children and One Life to Live is set to begin next month.
How great would it be if AMC and OLTL’s creator, the great Agnes Nixon, was announced as the head writer to oversee the projects? These are her babies. No one knows them quite like her!
