General Hospital’s Jen Lilley has joined the cast of Days of our Lives reports Soap Opera Digest.
The actress has been filming for over a month. Contrary to rumors of her taking over the role of Cassie Brady or Belle Black, SOD reports she is not playing a recast. Her unnamed character will reportedly have ties to the canvas.
Jen confirmed SOD’s report on Twitter, writing: “Yes! It’s officially announced! Man it was hard not to tell you guys.” She also tweeted co-star Greg Vaughan (Eric) regarding his tweet over the weekend that welcomed her to the cast. “When the awesome & well intended @greg_vaughan tweeted the news, I literally choked on some cheerios I was enjoying, then muttered omgomgomg.”
Jen broke into daytime in September 2011, stepping into the role of General Hospital fashionista Maxie Jones while Kirsten Storms was on medical leave. Lilley would play Maxie for nine months, vacating the role upon Storms’ return.
She’s a total sweetheart. I came to appreciate and genuinely enjoy her take on Maxie while she substituted for KS. Wishing for all the best for a successful run at DOOL!
