‘A Day of Days’ Interview: Lauren Koslow Teases New Storyline Involving Kate and Sami

Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate) sat down with TVSource Magazine for an interview during the “Day of Days” fan event at Universal Studios last Saturday. The actress couldn’t stop raving about her upcoming storyline with Alison Sweeney (Sami) and teased what’s to come.

“I love the storyline coming up. Kate and Sami are going to be working together in a story that is about to unfold. It is very dramatic, suspenseful, kind of crazy chaotic,” previewed Koslow. “They are thrown together in a very unexpected way.”

One of the reasons behind her excitement is the opportunity to work with Alison Sweeney on a regular basis. “I love working with her. We have years of playing these two characters and their relationship, which is very special.” She says her upcoming storyline will feature a new dynamic between Kate and Sami. “You have not seen them this way together; there has been hints of this in the past.”

She says the dynamic between Sami and Kate is the way it is because they’re so much alike. “I think that’s really the problem,” she laughed. “You are going to see them working and actually using that fact that they are so much alike – there are positives and negatives. We had scenes on Friday that after we finished, it was just a rush. I think it is a product of us working together for so long to that when you get these words [and] these scenes, you have so much history to it and sometimes we are just in the moment you find new things and we did on Friday. It was good. I am really, really looking forward to the audience reaction.”

Co-stars Alison Sweeney and James Scott (EJ) shared their excitement about the storyline as well. “It is just fabulous,” exclaimed Scott.

“It is going to be fun. I am excited, because I loved reading it [and] it was fun shooting it,” said Sweeney. “Lauren and I worked together for so many years and to get to play something like this was super fun!”

Koslow wasn’t the only one expressing excitement over an upcoming storyline. Her on-screen Bryan Dattilo (Lucas), tells us “Characters that haven’t been on will be introduced and will help [Lucas’] future.”
