Doug Davidson (Paul, Y&R) says it was very exciting to learn he was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor. “I had a really good year in terms of material and had something to choose from. This is my fourth nomination and no wins yet, so I am hoping the fourth time is the charm.” It turns out, it is! Davidson went on to win his first Daytime Emmy after over 30 years in the business!
When it came to picking his submission, Davidson told us he knew right away what to submit. “One episode just spoke to me. It had a lot of different colors in it, a lot of progression and ended in heartbreak so I went with it.”
Davidson says that fans can look forward to more of Paul’s professional life. “We have a whole new set. He’s chief of police and that’s the center of Paul’s world right now.”
