Apple TV+ has renewed Sugar for a second season. Colin Farrell is set to return and reprise his role as Detective John Sugar. The series is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture, and television history: the private detective story. After the events of season one, season two will see Sugar find himself back in Los Angeles taking on another missing person’s case, as he continues to look for answers surrounding his missing sister. 

Concert special Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour will premiere October 29 on Netflix. Get ready to scream, cry, dance, and sing your heart out with Olivia Rodrigo. From the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, she’ll sing songs from her latest album, GUTS, and her debut album, SOUR. In this exhilarating concert special, get a look at Olivia on her GUTS world tour and experience her powerful performances about heartbreak and betrayal. 

Velma: This Halloween Needs to Be More Special! premieres October 3 on Max. It’s spooky season and there’s a new mystery to solve in Crystal Cove. With just 24 hours to bring Velma back, the friends search for a dark spellbook while trying to avoid the wrath of a vengeful spirit. But as the annual Sexy Halloween party nears, Velma and the gang must face their biggest fears… if they all want to make it out alive. 

Beyond Goodbye premieres on Netflix November 14. After a tragic accident takes the love of her life, Saeko feels oddly drawn to a stranger – who, unbeknownst to both, received her late fiancé’s heart.

Season sixteen of Ink Master premieres October 23 on Paramount+. The series is hosted by Joel Madden, alongside returning judges including three-time Ink Master champion DJ Tambe, Ryan Ashley, the first female tattoo artist to win the competition, and Nikko Hurtado, one of the world’s best color-realism artists. 16 new artists enter the shop to battle in the ultimate tattoo competition, where they will put their skills, and their experience, to the test week after week in epic challenges. Only one will win $250,000 and the title of “Ink Master.” 

Ancient Aliens: Origins premieres October 7 on The History Channel. The series takes viewers back to where it all began by revisiting the most compelling mysteries explored over the past 15 years of Ancient Aliens. In each episode, experts such as Giorgio Tsoukalos, David Childress, William Henry, and Nick Pope engage in thought-provoking conversations on topics central to the Ancient Astronaut Theory. From astonishing feats of engineering to enigmatic UFOs and sky gods, they delve deep into the series’ extensive archive, reflecting on past investigations, sharing personal insights from their adventures, and offering new perspectives on the ancient enigmas that have captivated humanity for centuries. 

The Fall 2024 anime season begins this week on Crunchyroll. I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History and Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister premiered October 1. Season three of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World and season two of KamiErabi GOD.app premiere October 2. Kinokoinu Mushroom Pup, Negative Positive Angler, 365 Days to the Wedding, DAN DA DAN, Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms, and TRILLION GAME premiere October 3. Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online Season II and The Stories of Girls Who Couldn’t Be Magicians premiere October 4. BLUE LOCK 2nd Season, You are Ms. Servant and Blue Exorcist -Beyond the Snow Saga- premiere October 5. TsumaSho and season two of MF Ghost premiere October 6. Even more series are set to premiere in the coming weeks. Select series will also get English dubs, premiering later. 

Holiday comedy special Jack in Time for Christmas will premiere this December on Prime Video. Jack Whitehall finds himself stranded in the USA with just four days to make it back to the UK for Christmas. With time ticking away, Jack embarks on an incredible and, some would say, implausible journey involving planes, trains, huskies, and bobsleighs. A stockingful of conveniently located famous faces help (and hinder) along the way as Jack navigates the chaos of Christmas and tries to make it home in time. Part scripted comedy, part unscripted travelogue – Jack is joined by Michael Bublé, Dave Bautista, Rebel Wilson, Jimmy Fallon, Daisy May Cooper, and Tom Davies, who, together with Jack’s unmistakable British wit, deliver a sparkling international cast set to deliver heaps of laughter. Will Jack make it home in time to make the gravy? Or will he be spending the holidays in the states, and the doghouse? 

Hailey’s On It! has been canceled after one season. The Disney Channel series was recently pulled from Disney+. The finale aired in May.

Rhythm and Flow: Brazil is coming soon to Netflix. The show will include 20 artists from the Brazilian scene: Azzy, Bob13, Dallas, Dexter, Ebony, FBC, Iza Sabino, Jottapê, Karol Conká, KL JAY, Laudz, Marcelo D2, Maru2D, MC Luanna, Negra Li, N.I.N.A, Sidoka, Vulgo FK, WIU and Zegon. Each will support the artistic growth of the new crop of rap and trap artists taking part in the competition. With an authentic, documentary style, the reality show will follow the artistic growth of the participants throughout the competition and will crown a rising star on the Brazilian rap and trap scene. The winner will receive R$ 500,000 to launch their career as well as a spot on Season 5 of Sintonia. Serving as judges are Djonga, from Belo Horizonte; Filipe Ret, from Rio de Janeiro; and sisters Tasha & Tracie, from São Paulo. Following the same format as the US, French and Italian versions, the reality show is shot in the three judges’ hometowns, with a focus on the places that impacted their careers – Viaduto Santa Tereza (in Belo Horizonte), Tavares Bastos and Lapa (in Rio de Janeiro) and Cidade Tiradentes (in São Paulo). Rapper and songwriter Kamau hosts, with beats by the fierce DJ Miya B.  

Batwheels has been renewed for a third season. Bam, Redbird, Bibi, Batwing, and Buff are thrust into hilarious hijinks as they learn important lessons. The preschool series airs on Cartoon Network and Max. 

All Elite Wrestling has renewed its deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. AEW series will continue to air on TNT, TBS and will now stream on Max. 

Food Network has struck a new exclusive deal with Kardea Brown that will include Brown continuing in her role as judge on Spring Baking Championship. Brown will also co-host Kids Baking Championship, which is set to return with the Halloween-themed special, Kids Baking Championship: Scary Good (October 7) and the holiday-themed Kids Baking Championship: Frosting the Snowman. 

Nate Bargatze hosts Saturday Night Live October 5. Coldplay will serve as musical guest.

Murder Mindfully premieres October 31 on Netflix. Björn, a high-powered mafia lawyer, seeks peace in a mindfulness class to ease his stressful life. But as he explores the art of relaxation, he stumbles upon a darker method of finding inner peace – one that involves murder. 

Season two of Sherwood premieres November 14 on BritBox. Two shocking killings engulf a town in tension and fear in the captivating crime thriller.

Coming of age series Adoration premieres November 20 on Netflix. In a small town near Rome, Elena, a teenage girl disappears. Who is she? What happened to her? This is the story of the two faces of adoration – one striving for dedication; and the other for possession. And how it is sometimes hard to recognise the right one. 

New true crime series A Plan to Kill premieres October 27 on Oxygen. The series examines the stories of disturbed killers who spend weeks, months or even years viciously scheming and plotting the demise of their victims. With first-hand accounts from investigators who worked the cases and the loved ones of those slain, the series delves into the nefarious plans behind the murders to reveal just how far some people will go to take the life of someone they believe has wronged them. It includes the case of Amie Harwick, a successful Los Angeles-based therapist, who was previously engaged to comedian Drew Carey and whose murder made national headlines. Other cases featured this season involve victims who were beloved members of their communities: a mailman targeted while on his daily route, a firefighter gunned down in his driveway and a military veteran initially suspected for the death of his best friend, only to have police discover that he was a victim as well. 

The World According to Kaleb premieres November 29 on Prime Video. The special will give audiences at home front row seats to Chipping Norton’s finest and best-known farmer and best-selling author, as he puts on an extra special night back where it all began – at the Cheltenham Everyman Theatre. This final performance will include Kaleb’s unique observations and strong views on anything from sheep, to famous people, to why farming is the best job in the world, whilst also highlighting some of the many challenges that British farmers face today
