The CW announced its midseason schedule on Thursday, which includes premiere dates for its remaining freshman series, Star-Crossed and The 100. To make room for the new shows on the schedule, the network will be shifting some of its current shows to new nights.
Star-Crossed, the futuristic story of an alien/human romance, will premiere on Monday, Feb. 17 in the 8 p.m. spot currently held by Hart of Dixie. Beauty and the Beast will keep its Monday timeslot until March 10 when it will go on hiatus until a ‘to be determined’ date and time.
On March 17, The Tomorrow People will move to Mondays and take over the spot previously held by Beauty and the Beast.
The 100, a post-apocalyptic adventure drama, will premiere on Wednesday, March 19 in the 9 p.m. EST timeslot previously held by The Tomorrow People, following Arrow.
On Friday, March 21, Whose Line Is It Anyway? will return with back to back episodes at 8 p.m., followed by Hart of Dixie, which will make the move to Fridays at 9 p.m. EST.
Tuesday night’s combination of The Originals and Supernatural remains unchanged as does Thursday night’s schedule of The Vampire Diaries and Reign.

Our Take: While we understand the network wanting to give the new shows a fair shot, it’s never fun to hear one of our favorites is being shuffled to Friday night. Whose Line did well over the summer so maybe it will help bring more viewers to Hart of Dixie, but it doesn’t seem likely. We’re also worried for The Tomorrow People. The show has been struggling after Arrow and it doesn’t seem like it’s strong enough to move to the highly competitive Monday night arena. We might not be faithful Beauty and the Beast viewers, but the only thing worse than hearing your show is being moved to Friday is hearing that your show has a TBD return date. On the positive side, we’re happy Reign gets to stay in its current timeslot and we hope the ratings continue to grow.
