Disney+’s upcoming Marvel series Ms. Marvel will premiere June 8. The six episode series introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination – particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home – that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?
Halo premieres on Paramount+ March 24. Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.
Season three of A Black Lady Sketch Show will premiere on HBO April 8. The narrative sketch comedy series features a core cast of Black women living relatable, hilarious experiences in a magical reality that subverts traditional expectations. The six episode season stars Robin Thede, Gabrielle Dennis, Ashley Nicole Black and Skye Townsend. ABC announced premiere dates for three unscripted series. Season four of Holey Moley will kick off May 3 at 8. Muppets favorites unite with on-camera commentating duo Rob Riggle and Joe Tessitore, making for some un-fore-gettable hijinks. The Chase will return May 3 at 9. Three new “Chasers”, Victoria Groce, Brandon Blackwell and Buzzy Cohen, will join returning “Chasers” Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer as Sara Haines hosts the game. (No Ken Jennings fuels a potential Jeopardy! full time gig coming?) New series Who Do You Believe? will premiere May 3 at 10. The series portrays cases from the narratives of the victims and perpetrators. Viewers can then put together the real truth through both versions of the cases in question.
Paul Wesley has been cast as James T. Kirk in the upcoming second season of Paramount+’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The news comes ahead of the series premiere set for May 25. William Shatner originated the role in the original Star Trek series.
HBO Max’s animated series Close Enough returns for season three April 7. The news was announced during the season finale airing on TBS.
9-1-1’s Angela Bassett will be crossing over on 9-1-1: Lone Star on March 21. The crossover comes following 9-1-1’s spring premiere episode.

The NBC dance competition series is inspired by the millions tuning in to watch the latest dance crazes on social media. a group of everyday people compete each week in a series of high-energy dance challenges designed and demonstrated by the show’s celebrity creators Shakira, Liza, and Shaquille. Isolated in their own pods, contestants have a short time to learn the new routines, add their unique flair and then perform their hearts out in front of a live studio audience.
CBS has set a special honoring the life and legacy of Whitney Houston marking ten years since her untimely passing. Whitney, A Look Back will air April 2. It will include lost performances and rare moments with Whitney, as well as new interviews with those who knew her best, including Dionne Warwick, Clive Davis, CeCe Winans, Monica, and Kelly Price. It will also explore new details about the days leading up to and following Whitney’s death.
John Clarence Stewart, Miracle Watts and Shamika Cotton have joined the second season of Starz’s P-Valley. All three will appear in the new season as recurring.
The new season of Netflix’s Danish political drama Borgen – Power & Glory premieres April 15. The series follows Birgitte Nyborg, her staff and the media tasked with covering her, this time in her role as Minister for Foreign Affairs. The new season deals with some of the biggest political issues of our time; the relevance of the Danish Realm in the modern world, the superpowers’ battle for control of the Arctic – and not least, the climate crisis. The main story focuses on the struggle for power and what power does to people – both professionally and on a personal level.
Prime Video has ordered YA action thriller series Shelter to series. It tells the story of high school junior Mickey Bolitar as he navigates his new life with a mom in rehab, a dead father, an annoying aunt, and a new school in New Jersey with a camel as its mascot. When a creepy old lady who may or may not be a ghost tells Mickey that his father isn’t dead, Mickey is sure he’s losing his mind on top of everything. Mickey finds a grounding force in Ashley Kent, another new student who’s lived through her own tragedy. But then Ashley goes missing, and as Mickey searches for her, he learns that everything she told him was a lie – and that he is in serious danger unless he gets to the bottom of what happened to her and his father. Mickey’s search thrusts him into a world of conspiracy, lies, and the darkest aspects of humanity. The series is based on Harlan Coben’s Mickey Bolitar book trilogy series.
The fourth season midseason premiere of Tyler Perry’s Sistas will pick up starting June 29. The news comes ahead of the midseason finale airing on BET March 16. The series follows a group of single Black females as they navigate their “complicated love life,” careers, and friendship through the ups and downs of living in a modern world of social media and unrealistic relationship goals.
Frankie Faison has been cast in ABC’s The Rookie upcoming backdoor pilot spinoff. The potential series focusing on the FBI will also potentially star Niecy Nash, Kat Foster and Felix Solis. The two part event will air later this season.
Tanya Saracho, Gabriela Revilla Lugo and Selena Gomez are developing 15 Candles, a reinterpretation of John Hughes‘ 16 Candles. The Peacock series would focus on four young latinas in high school coming of age through their quinceañera.
Dr. Seuss Enterprises is teaming up with Netflix for five new animated preschool series and specials. The projects are inspired by treasured stories like Horton Hears a Who!; The Sneetches; One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish; and Wacky Wednesday, in addition to lovable characters like Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose. Season two of Green Eggs and Ham premieres April 8.
Kimee Balmilero, Tess Paras and Jason Rogel have been cast in ABC’s pilot Josep. They join previously cast Mia Katigbak, Rory O’Malley and Kaden Alejandro.
CBS will air Pickled later this year, a new comedic, celebrity-packed pickleball tournament. The two hour event will curate the best all-star competitive teams to play against each other in the name of charity, and ultimately vie for the coveted totem of excellence: the Golden Gherkin. Nida Khurshid and Jojo Fleites have been cast in The CW’s Supernatural prequel series pilot The Winchesters. The potential series will focus on Sam and Dean Winchester’s parents John and Mary, and their love story.

Chris Sullivan has been cast in ABC’s comedy pilot The Son in Law. This potential series will be Sullivan’s post This Is Us project as the series comes to an end this season. The potential series follows a man trying to impress his fiance’s parents and earn their approval.
